A-class JFK-LAX options?
EF lists A0 for all the 3-class AA transcons I looked at (for 13 Mar) and the Cathay trip planner doesn't even list A as an option in the details box. In spite of this is it still trivial to ask the AA rtw desk to free up a first-class seat as part of an AONEx?
Alternatively, has anyone had recent experience with QF108? A year ago there were mixed reports (tho mostly negative) about chances of including this segment without an adjacent QF segment to/from NA.
(It occurs to me that for $125 one could show an adjacent Qantas segment, and then change it after flying the transcon. Except in my case I've already used trans-pacific and I don't suppose they fly the Atlantic.)

I've called the RTW desk a few times before asking them to ask yield management to release a transcon A class seat as well as LAX-LHR seats.. 100% hit rate for them on releasing the LAX-LHR one within 24 hours of the call.. but about 50% it doesn't happen, and I just call back a week later and ask them to try it again... most times I've asked is 3 times in the span of about a month, and eventually I get my seat on the transcon..
but regardless, its really a PITA.. and the RTW desk reps are quite sick and tired of people calling about A class seats having no availability on the transcons..

Also the moderate annoyance that AA "Premium" service can't be compared with the QF service, or the JFK-YVR (which unfortunately leaves one only half-way to LAX).
