I suggest the exact thing that the above poster suggests. I have a 100% hit rate going through the AA RTW desk for transcon A class seats when EF lists none....
It's the PITA part that bothers me - I hate to play favorites by asking for one of the known nice people on the desk, and I equally hate to take my chances.
Also the moderate annoyance that AA "Premium" service can't be compared with the QF service, or the JFK-YVR (which unfortunately leaves one only half-way to LAX).
