Help! AA OW Award Flagged as Invalid
Hey guys, I need some more help. I posted here a couple of months ago and the knowledge I gained was invaluable.
Trying to do a C OW150 AA award. Here is the routing:
MKE-ORD-MIA-SCL(Stop)-IPC(Stop)-SCL-MIA-ORD(Stop for 5 months)-LHR-CAI(Stop)-LHR-ORD.
The note in the record was that you cannot stopover or transit the origin (which I know) or destination (which is news to me).
On my first post here, you all seemed to think that the MKE origin, and ORD destination would count as my open jaw, but I guess AA sees it differently.
I can fix it by getting back to MKE, but frankly I dont want to go back if I dont have to. I live in chicago.

Thanks again. I need to ticket by Tuesday, so please help if you can. Is this something I can appeal (assuming the human checker is wrong)? I passed the computer validation, and had sent this in for final ticketing.

It is the destination which is tripping it up. I think I will just continue on to MKE to make it valid. Thanks to all.

Val, I'm not sure anyone (even AA) would much care if you "forgot" to take that final ORD-MKE segment. You could book it (and pay the taxes on it), then never actually take it. Would probably be OK.
Anyone ever tried this? I haven't, and I can't speak to its morality, ethics, etc. But it does seem like a very practical way to solve your problem.

Wouldn't they insist that the OP have a reservation for that last segment (since it's not a stopover) and will expect him to be on the flight? The agent at LHR will give him a bp for the segment and not showing up for it doesn't sound like a clean getaway.
