Ticketing Mistake

Hello,

I am in a bit of a quandary about a ticketing issue and would appreciate any advice.
I booked a RTW in First through my TA and BA North America desk. The ticket was issued a few days ago. I constructed the itinerary based on the xONE4 fare rules, 20 segments, no milage limits, etc... The itinerary was deemed valid. The total milage is over 44,000.
To my surprise upon receiving the ticket, the fare basis used was AGLOB34. So obviously a mistake was made somewhere. Now the fares for a ANOE4 and a AGLOB34 are very similar in my country of departure so I did not catch the error prior to the actual ticketing.

Is there any risk that in the middle of the trip, far from home, a perceptive check-in agent identifies the mistake and prevents me from continuing my journey? Or should I just shut up and hope for the best?

Thanks

Eric

I'd say there won't be a problem with check-in agents - they are simply interested in the fare code - A in both cases.

Where you will have a big problem is if you ever want to get the ticket rerouted and reissued. If there is any chance at all that you might want to do that then I would say send it back and get the TA to reissue it corretly (at their expense).

FYI, Travel Agents can get debit memos (fined) if they issue tickets incorrectly.

This can involve the airline sending a debit memo for all the segments priced at "Full F" !!

But then the travel agent can blame the BA Rate Desk for their error...

Irrespective of whose error it is, the ticket is wrong as it is not what the customer wanted. He wanted an AONE4 and not an AGLOB4 which is mileage based and not continent based. Yes the fare for both are identical - but only at the 4 continent fare and not others.. ie AONE3.

Bring your ticket back to the TA and get it reissued. There should be no fee as the error laid between the agent and the communication between them and the airline rate desk.

Thank you for the input. I'll have the ticket reissued.

No offense, but why would he care about a TA's debit memo? My customers dont care if I get internally reprimanded.

It's not what was purchased. Any subsequent problems will balloon unneccessarily because of it since everything is going to be based off of the fare code.
