Question Help with RTW planning and booking

Hi all

I've been searching through the forums for answers but cant find what I'm looking for.

I see that OneWorld have a special fare for RTW tickets based on how many continents you visit.

Can someone help me find how much the fares are and where I can string together an itenery.

I would start from Manchester, UK and travel to Asia, Australia and the USA, preferably keeping off BA as I want more than 25% of my miles flown posted.

I've been searcing google but come up blank.

Cheers

The links to prices are not up to date. Does anyone have a link to the latest starfile with latest prices (eg ex-BKK)?

I believe that most of the prices are correct but there are a few that are off like BKK. I don't believe exmo or anyone else has posted an undated starfile since the January (including ex-CAI) increases. Someone in the last two weeks did report an ex-BKK price they were recently quoted.

To which FF program would you be crediting the miles? Are you planning on travelling first, business or coach? If it's coach, be aware that RTW coach tickets are booked in L class. If you're in the AA program, that will earn you 25% on BA flights and zero % on QF and CX flights.... not sure what credit you get in other programs but I suspect it's not a lot better.....

I'm with AA. Is there any other fare classes than L in economy available to purchase. As my idea of round the world, wasnt just a holiday but also a milage run.

All the OW RTWs are booked in L as far as I am aware. However, if you take Marco Polo / AsiaMiles as your FF programme then you get 100% credit on CX, AY, LA, EI & AA, and 50% on BA & QF.

You could probably work out your itinerary avoiding BA and perhaps even QF, depending on what you want to do in Australia. On a well-planned LONE4 you ought to be able to get more or less to CX Gold (OW Sapphire, equivalent to BA Silver) doing something like this:
LHR-HEL-MAD-HEL-LHR-HKG-CMB-HKG-KHI-HKG-AKL-MEL-HKG-JFK-PHX-JFK-DFW-ANC-ORD-SFO-LHR
for over 60000 status miles (assuming you can find one of the ticketing agents who allows you to do the HKG transit from SYD to JFK); you need 60,000 for Gold on CX if you talk to them nicely (i.e. get them to waive the "going up through the tiers" rule).
