RTW contact [DONE4 question]
Does Qantas have an dedicated number for RTW bookings? The normal service is worse than useless. They tried to charge me Qantas points (I am a BA FF) and money for a date change (which is free on RTW tickets)!

If asking for QF points the may be getting confused with the QF points product " oneworld Classic Flight reward". Often incorrectly referred to as RTW
Is you ticket a oneworld RTW *ONE* or *GLOB* ? Issued by which airline? [hopefully not QF]
Is in the rules a service fee can be charged. And a US$125 for some changes.
16. VOLUNTARY CHANGES / REROUTING / PENALTIES

If you have any AA sements in yout itinerary, perhaps see whether you can make the change through AA's ATW desk
As mentioned, although there is no change fee applicable, service fees may apply. From https://www.qantas.com/au/en/book-a-...e-booking-fees , it would seem that the fee could be AUD77 for a change made over the telephone depending on class of service

Thanks, both. It's a DONE4. I booked it on the website for the first time ever (doh!) and for some reason it was ticketed by Qantas despite first 2 segments on BA (there are more segments on Qantas and one very small one on AA). I will see if I can get a good BA person to help me.
I should have said that I solved the problem I mentioned (by just saying no I won't pay) but now I want to upgrade the entire itinerary from D to A.

QF is the default issuer for many OW RTW's. Others will default to the airline of the first segment. Is a pity AA did not pick up/volunteer for the contract for RTW ticket issuing.
Not many airlines/routes/aircraft with First class. Fare class A can be hard to get. As you have an AA flight ask AA re-ticket

Dedicated AA RTW desk. This was from AU so +1 . That may vary dependent on your location.
They may want an AA over water flight number.

This morning I made my first calls to the AA RTW desk (+1 800 247 3247).

AA RTW desk
As mentioned earlier, I used the AA code specifically for the transatlantic segment to be able to use the AA RTW desk. Their number is +1 800-247-3247 which is a US toll free number, so you can use Skype to call for free anywhere in the world. Given their operating hours of 7AM to 10PM Dallas (US central) time, late evenings or mornings here in Australia are perfect to call with low wait times.
