AA (787) or BA (777) in business class

I can choose between the AA flight from AMS - PHL (and further to MCO) or AMS - LHR - MCO with BA. I would like to avoid LHR, but what business class would be better of those two ? AA is with 787, and BA is with 777.

In these times avoiding a transit in a 3rd country is by far preferable.
What is the comparison of scheduled departure/arrival times and overall travel time?

I prefer the hard product on the AA 787 -- make sure you get the seats you prefer, as some are not as desirable as others. On AMS-PHL-MCO, you will have to clear immigration and customs at Philadelphia (including checked luggage), so ensure you have at least four hours layover. You will be able to simply walk out of the airport at Orlando, which would not be the case on the AMS-LHR-MCO routing (you would endure formalities at both points on that itinerary.)

The soft product (beverages, dining, lounges) would point to BA, but all services are so reduced generally right now not sure how different are the offerings.

Yes, I am pretty well travelled, but normally fly Delta / KLM. And yes, I prefer to transit in the USA, especially over LHR. But this is a private flight, and there is such a good deal on flying BC (€ 1.150), that I really would like to book this for me and my wife. But no experience with BC on either airlines. So was just wondering how they compare (apart from all the other important factors, which would have me fly with AA). It would be in december this year, if we are allowed to travel to the USA by than ... By the way, we have Global Entry to speed up the proces in the USA ;-) !

Personally I believe the AA hard product is much better than the BA777 business seat.
The soft product on BA is somewhat to much better than on AA.
Transfer at LHR sucks. Also transfer in a third country has some risk of changing rules etc.
As much as I dislike AA in general I would pick the AA option in your situation.

How about take AA to go West and BA for the return? Should be allowed on the ticket. In general I greatly prefer the 787 to a 777, I really enjoy the quietness and lower altitude pressurization of the 787. That's of course ignoring the difference in soft product.
