Subtle Change to Oneworld Explorer Rules

The travel.com.au site now lists the following rule restricting number of intra-Australian transcons:

WITHIN AUSTRALIA - ONLY O N E NONSTOP/SINGLE
PLANE SERVICE IS PERMITTED BETWEEN THE FOLLOWING
POINTS:
BNE/CNS/SYD-PER;
MEL/SYD-DRW.
EXCEPTION: NO RESTRICTION BETWEEN SYD-PER FOR
PASSENGERS ORIGINATIING IN PER WHEN IN CONJUNCTION
WITH TRAVEL TO/FROM AFRICA.

The "Originating in Perth" has been added. It used to say "No restriction between SYD-PER when in conjunction with travel to/from Africa" I don't know if this rule applies only to Oz-issued tickets or not.

Sounds like they were just clearing up a potential problem: if you originate in Perth but you have to go via Sydney to pick up your Africa flight, how do you get home if you are only allowed on flight between the two?

I think the fact that the ticket only has to originate in Perth answers the question of where it is issued.

You don't seem to have understood the post whmere. Before, anyone flying between Oz and Africa could fly two Oz transcons eg SYD-PER-SYD-JNB. Now only those originating in Perth can eg PER-SYD-JNB...LAX-SYD-PER. There was never a potential problem for Perth originating passengers. This is just an added restriction to those who don't originate in Perth. And as these rules are from an Australian travel site we don't know if this applies to RTWs issued in other continents or not.

You didn't state it very well.

Ugh

Thanks for reminding me why I usually don't bother.

Actually I am relatively certain that anyone with any long-term familiarity with the One World Rules understood 3554quebec's post and the nuance it detailed. 2 PER - SYD trips used to be possible for anyone as long as they used the SYD - JNB flight to enter or exit the SW Pacific continent. That is no longer the case and only applies to PER originating pax.

As for your post was it meant to add value or just up your post count?

I have only a "short-term" familiarity with same (but catching up quick, with dueling eastbound vs. westbound ONE's happening simultaneously) and I thought 3554quebec's was clear and concise.
