Mine isn't ticketed yet so I suppose it's not definitive, but CX res has at least booked it with no grumble. Based on that and prior comments here I'm fully expecting it to be accepted when they price it. I'll be doing that in a week or so and will post just to close the matter.

Note that SITI rules sometimes require that the traveler be physically present in the departure country to buy the tix, in which case dealing with a TA in that country from your desk in Dallas would be bending the rules. No one has said that applies to OWE fares, I'm just suggesting a bit of caution in your conversation with AA.
In other regions where there's no advanced purchase reqmt it's something of a don't-care, but with the NA 7-day reqmt it's less convenient should you really find yourself being required to do it.

Nah, my TA picked Qantas to ticket an OWE using the (perhaps incorrect) reason that the "first intercontinental" carrier had to do that. I asked here and a couple of people assured me that QF had a great rtw and/or rate desk.
I think not!
It's been at least a couple of weeks; some sign of action, but each hint at progress comes with some significant error that seems to start the process over again. So I'm NOT a happy Qantas camper. I hope the good folks who assured me that their first-class 744's had flat beds and at least half-way decent service weren't similarly overly-optimistic.

On a serious note, I've been able to get quite complicated ticketing resolved with QF within 24 hours (and it was always done right, in fact they were very gung-ho about Oneworld and not put off by never having heard of something before).

You could be right, 6. She was given to me by Terenz, and at least is fairly familiar with OWE rules, but could be on the outs with QF. She's generally pretty accommodating and on the ball, so perhaps she is dealing with a different QF desk than the one you've had good luck with.

I can confirm HKG transit from SWP to NA as of last August ex.ARN.
I issued OWE4-biz class ticket like below last August in Sweden (TA: Worldwide) and already completed my trip this MAY.
ARN-xLHR-oDXB-xLHR-oNRT-xHKG-oDPS-xHKG-oNRT-oPER-xMEL-oSYD-oPER-xHKG-oJFK-xMIA-oATL-xORD-oSJU-xLAX-xLHR-ARN
Actually I changed this itinerary two times while staying in Tokyo and it final ended up like this.
ARN-xLHR-oDXB-xLHR-oNRT-xHKG-oBKK-xHKG-oNRT-xSYD-oPER-oSYD-oPER-xSYD-xHKG-oJFK-oMBJ-oJFK-xYVR-xDFW-oATL-xSAN-xLGW/LHR-ARN
(SYD-PER roundtrips ACCEPTED! last SEP)
BUT......When I asked similar itinerary ex. JNB this January through AMEX travel, IT WAS REJECTED and I gave it up.
It might depend on the region or TA.
I also want to know if we can do it.
(this is my first post and a bit nervous)

yes, I have had it ticketed twice, both times being swp - hkg - yyz
The first one was issued by cathay pacific here in Australia, the second one by qantas. I haven't experienced any problems whatsoever doing this.

I digress, but a related question. Can I transit Europe on a three continent (Asia, Africa, US) RTW. I can get to JNB via CX but cannot get from JNB to the US without connecting in Europe.
