ScottC, as a fellow OneWorld RTW fan, the document is wonderful. I am delighted to have it - and wonder when TAROM plans to join OneWorld. Fortunately, the GlamMaster is allowed to add anything he likes to the TAROM website.
Do you know the date of this document? I have been using FewMiles excellent website at http://plaza.powersurfr.com/fewmiles...wenotes.html#1 ; the latest rules he has posted there are dated Dec 18, 2001.

, These rules were posted by BA on Feb.7 2002, I understood from Darren that several rules have been changed a little but it should still provide a nice start to plan a decent RTW.
BTW, Fewmiles is of course permitted to post this document on his site

This is truly great! Is this document currently valid? Since it is from BA I assume it is trust-worty. It is really good because it is in a simple to understand language. It seem to be UK based, I guess it applies to RTW and Cicles all over the world including the US?

It must be fairly recent.. I noticed that they added all the new regional destinations in the Visit Africa fare. (NBO/KRT/JIB/etc)
Hrm, it doesn't list Seattle as one of the Transcon cities in North America or the single Australia transcon rule..

As usual, new information leads me to new questions.
Does the statement "Origin-destination surface segment permitted between USA and Canada" mean I can buy the ex-Canada fare and make YVR-LAX (surface) my first leg?
I suppose it's not that easy.

Nice to be able to read the rules without a bunch of line numbers in the left margin. Although I noticed a difference between the Sabre listed rules (printed by the DC AA city ticket office) and this BA version. Which set would apply? I believe there is a way to take more than 1 transcon nonstop in NA. But, I don't want to tip off the airlines. Just because they were not careful when they wrote the rules does not mean I should be penalized. Should I just try to revise my itinerary and wait for the fallout?

I must admit these rules are very easy to read and provide a great guide to the beginner. However, they are about 6 months old. The current rules in effect have additional USA transcon cities, the new OZ trans con rule, and a different list of African countries that permit 2 entries into Europe in transit. The best online resource for the relatively current rules continues to be FewMiles site.
On the plus side the new rules allow us to use some added BA carriers in Africa and TWA.

I still wish someone would explain to me in simple terms (e.g. "yes" or "no") if the statement in the BA version of the OWE rules:
"Origin-destination surface segment permitted between USA and Canada"
means I can buy the ex-Canada fare and make YVR-LAX (surface) my first leg.
The comment that the rules were for Brits, although no doubt intended to clarify things and be helpful, rang no bells for me.
