Thanks Pandaperth and Jerry A Laska for the DCIR26 out of HKG. Got it ticketed in HKG and flew 8 days later to start it. The one thing I did vs my previous routing discussed, is I stopped in ORD (vs NYC) and then got a "cheap" r/t refundable/changable ORD-LAS (to get back home) vs a OW from ORD or DFW home. ^

Original routing:
So, flying in J...Starting at home in LAS....

Can I go....LAS-LAX-SYD-(stop for 2 days)-AKL(stop for a couple days)-SIN (via SYD or MEL)(stop again in SIN for 2)-HKG (stop again or no?)-JFK (stop for 2 days)-DFW-LAS.


The travel agent was great that was recommended in the thread and paid right at 6,000 USD. Thanks guys!!

I am in the middle of a DCIR26 bought in HKG and have routed back to ORD. I still have ORD-LAX-SYD-AKL-SIN-HKG left on it. I am home in LAS right now.

I need to go to SCL now prior to SYD and AKL....Since I am on a DCIR26 and doesn't include SCL or South America I can't use this until a later time.

I am looking at getting a DCIR29 from LAS now to go LAS-LAX-SCL-(AKL-SYD)-SIN-ICN-(back to the US..still working on the details). The other option, that would be a PIA is get a R/T LAS-SCL then continue on the DCIR I currently have open right now.

My million dollar question is, has anyone had a 2 DCIR's going at the same time and do the Airlines get "worked up" over it?

No problem having multiple xonex's or xcirx's open at the same time or at least none that anyone has ever reported. You may want to look into upgrading your dcir26 to a dcir29. I have no actual experience with upgrading a cirpac in this manner.

Give the aa rtw desk a call and check with them. As a slightly different datapoint there is at least one report of someone converting a circle trip into a oneworld explorer trip midtrip. See:

Hi All

I am looking at a Circle Pacific Fare at the moment and I am obviously tempted by the difference in price when buying it from HKG. However I am unsure of what that actually means and hope someone could explain it to me.

If it is ticketed in HKG to get the cheaper fare, does that mean you have to go there to collect the ticket. Also does it mean that it has to start in HKG?

I am looking at a LAX,SYD,BKK,KUL,HKG,LAX routing at the moment and am just trying to get my head around how to get the cheapest deal! I am looking at DCIR22.

Yes (or you can get a travel agent there to issue it for you) or in Canada. And yes you have to start from HKG. Review the thread as goingbananas recently started one from HKG.

It needs to be issued in Hong Kong or in Canada, and needs to start from HKG. Without being there in person you can have it issued as an e-ticket by a travel agent or the Hong Kong AA agent as posted upthread.

You'd need positioning flights to get to HKG to start it, and from HKG after it ends, E.g., an LAX-HKG RT that has an outbound date before the DCIR22 starts, and an inbound date after it ends.

Normally, the fare paid is the more expensive of the fare where it starts and the fare where it is purchased, but there is an exception when purchasing in Canada. So, one option is to have the AA RTW desk set it up for purchase in Canada, then buy it at an airport somewhere in Canada where AA flies, or by a travel agent in Canada who can issue tickets from Sabre.
