No. You can't use the JQ code until such a time as JQ joins oneworld (either as a full member or as an affiliate member of QF).

Also, if you're looking at a DCIRCxx on a QF coded JQ flight, you'd be booked into L. D is not bookable under the QF code on JQ operated flights (even when said flight has a business class cabin).

Do you guys know if I want to accumulate asia miles and during a trip I have a QF flight and I wanna do an upgrade using QF FF points... can I still collect Asia miles for that same flight I use QF points for the upgrade? or will that become QF FF points?

Also I am a little confusing with the ticketing deadline. As I will not be 100% sure my routing until within 7 days of my departure date, can I still get the DCIR26 for Circle Pacific? I read some rules saying I need to complete ticketing 7 days prior to the departure date, but some rules say if I purchase the ticket within 7 days, I need to complete ticketing within 3 days?

If I am getting the DCIR26 in Hong Kong via CX, which rules applies?

I am trying to book my first Circle Pacific ticket and have a few questions.

First, previously (in 2011) there used to be a link on the One World website showing how many miles were required to purchase the Circle Pacific fare, it has since disappeared. Does anyone know where this link could be found now or know how many miles are required to purchase the 22K, 26K, and 29K fare respectively?

Can you use the Circle Pacific fare to fly to Bora Bora via Papeete (PPT) or Fiji (NAN)?

My plan would be to fly (22,300 miles):
LAX-PPT- (Surface to NAN) -AKL - SYD - (surface to MEL)-DSP-KUL- (surface to HKT)- (surface to USM) - LAX


If Fiji and Bora Bora couldn't be included than I would do this (21347):
LAX-AKL-SYD-(surface to MEL)-DSP-KUL-(surface to HKT)-(surface to USM) -HGK-LAX

What are the rules if you add in a South America stop? You have to be going a certain direction or stop in Chile or something? Maybe I'd add in a stop in Brazil..

Any suggestions, I know I would have to pay for the 29K mile Circle Pacific fare due to 6 stops....maybe I would look to surface two other stops to cut down to the 22K fare. However at this point like I said I'm not aware of the fare difference for booking with miles.

You need to issue the ticket both:

• Prior to 7 days before the first international and all earlier flights
• Within 7 days of making the reservation.

But you can make date/time/carrier changes (same exact routing) for free if any of the following apply:

1. You haven't left yet and it is more than 7 days before the first international flight and all earlier flights;
2. You've flown some of the flights

At any time after issuing the ticket, you can change the routing for a $125 re-route fee, provided the new route stays within the maximum band you originally purchased. (If you exceed the band, the ticket is also re-priced.)

Since reservations are tied to the first segment, if you change that, the ticket is re-priced, even if you otherwise could make the change for free.

So, if you're not 100% certain of your route, you can wait until 7 or 8 days before the first flight, and book then. If your route changes afterwards, you pay the $125 re-route fee. If you need to change the route of the first flight, you'll also pay any fare increase.

A circle pacific is a paid fare -- you cannot use miles to book it.

You may be thinking of something along the lines of the AA oneworld award where you can obtain a series of award flights on multiple oneworld carriers by redeeming aa miles. For info and rules see this thread:

BNE is closest to Noosa and Gold Coast. But, flights SYD-BNE are around $100 so is is a waste of one of the 16 CIRC segments for such a short flight. There is a communter train link to the Gold Coast. Not sure about Noosa, but car rental may be the way to go.

1. Yes. QF is in oneworld thus you can earn AsiaMiles

2. More difficult. Theoretically I think Amadeus should be able to cope with this (it reportedly has four FF fields for different purposes) but made more difficult by Qantas's last minute upgrades.

Best chance would be to put QF number against the segment and apply for the upgrades, then when at checkin when upgrade has either cleared or not cleared, ask for the FF number to be removed and reprinted with your CX number.
