from the article: " Qantas lists the Los Angeles Business Lounge among its closures, along with the airlines' own first class lounge upstairs"

Well, at LAX, the "OW Business Lounge (operated by QF)" and the QF First Lounge are on the same floor, albeit upstairs from the gates, stores, etc.

I don't see either of them reopening this calendar year.

Is there presently any Lounge open for One World premium cabin pax departing LAX?

During my visit on 29 July 2020, the only open oneworld lounge in LAX was the American Airlines Admirals Club in T4.
The OW Business Lounge and the QF First Class Lounge were both closed.

Any recent update for PAX departing LAX?

I assume Qantas F will remain closed until Qantas resumes US flights, but was hoping the OW lounge would be open :/

I don't think that the OW lounge would open as that lounge is also managed and operated by QF, however, is branded as a oneworld lounge.
Unfortunately, your only option is the AA Admirals Club in T4, however, now, that club has hot food.

Aside from who operates the LAX OW lounge, there is nowhere near the volume of qualifying pax (mostly Int'l travelers) to make it financially, or otherwise viable to have that lounge open. I'm afraid that it will be awhile before the required traffic will come back.

I am flying SFO-DOH in J on qatar
I booked my own AA ticket to SFO the same day, will I have access either the biz or first lounge (OWE)
This is for early next year, btw.

If you have LAX-SFO on AA (irrespective of class) and SFO-DOH (QR J) on the same day, and assuming all lounges are open by the time you travel, you will have access to the AA Flagship lounge and any of the Admirals Clubs before your LAX-SFO flight, even if the 2 tickets are booked separately. Theoretically, you should also have access to the oneworld LAX lounge and the AS lounge, although I'm not sure if in reality lounge receptionists are well informed to let you enter given they are in different terminals. You should however note that, if these tickets are bought separately and in different PNRs, you will not have free bags for your LAX-SFO flight (if booked in Y), the bags will not be through-checked, and you will not be protected in case of misconnection.

In addition to what ernestnywang mentioned, you would need to show your SFO-DOH boarding pass to the lounge agents in Los Angeles so lounge access might not be possible in LAX if you can't print your boarding pass online. The lounges being in different terminals wouldn't cause an issue but an e-ticket confirmation for the international flight wouldn't be sufficient.

Good point.

I would say though it's best to have the SFO-DOH boarding pass, but if you can't get it via online check-in, you should still try it by showing the e-ticket to lounge agents. All oneworld airlines are able to access each other's e-ticket images.

Just curious on the following itinerary if based on OW rules access would technically be allowed at OW lounge at LAX, assuming it was open.

HND-SFO JL J
SFO-LAX AA F
LAX-PHX AA

If departing LAX in Int'l J of course OW J.access
If landing right into LAX in Int'l J and connecting on then of course OW J access
If departing LAX on a domestic flight to catch Int'l J then again OW J access

But what about arriving in SFO then coming down to LA because now you are one removed from the qualifying flight. I know this one removed flight thing has been debated for AA FFD under their special rules but here I am just curious how does being 1 flight removed work for just OW lounge access.

No issues if the last leg is same day, or before 6 am the next day of the arrival of the qualifying Int'l flight. Helps to keep that BP handy just to speed up the process.COS of the connecting flights doesn't matter.

Whats the situation with oneworld lounge in LAX now? Google now lists its opening hours and says it is open. But also there are reports that OW elite members can use the Star Alliance lounge (EDIT: looks like this is only when flying BA metal). Anyone have a recent update?

British Airways contracts the *A Lounge as an individual airline and this has nothing to do with the oneworld alliance in general.
Both the oneworld Business Lounge and the Qantas Lounge are currently closed ( was in LAX last week and confirm that unless there is a recent re-opening ). If you are flying on an airline other than BA, your current options are limited to the AA and AS Lounges in Terminals 4, 5 and 6.
