Oneworld lounge not open until 2hr before my QR flight. Enjoying myself in the Flagship lounge (10min walk), agree with ^ about the high quality food, especially the desserts.
Update: checked out the oneworld lounge. I like the space (more spacious and less crowded than Flagship today), but the food is awful: a few stale and super basic "Asian" dishes (think lo mein). Flagship food was on a much higher level. |
Just took a look at https://www.qantas.com/au/en/qantas-...iness%20Lounge. It now says,
This lounge reopens on 30 March 2022. Lounge opening hours are from 6:30am daily until the last scheduled Qantas flight departure. |
I’m a Platinum Pro and will be traveling with 2 more people who don’t have status. Does anyone know if the Qantas Business lounge sells day pass and how much it is?

They do have complementary invitations given as incentives or rewards or sometimes a special offer but I am not sure any can be used at this lounge. |
Staff still insist on masks at the buffet.
They say they have not received any new guidance from LAWA (and from their operator) so far. No update on flyLAX.com as far as I can tell. I’ll be eating at Flagship First. Word is Qantas will be reopening the First Lounge sometime in June. Staff shortage issues might add to the delay. |
That's a great data point. I would prefer to eat a place that requires masks at buffet. Thank you.

Is there any word on the Oneworld First Lounge opening up?
I passed though in March before the A380 SYD resumed (which was reported to trigger the first lounge reopening) but it wasn’t open. I tried both Flagship in T4 (quiet, good food, good views) and Oneworld Business (much bigger and busier. Average food) over a long layover. I’ve another trip next week. Flagship would be a preference if Oneworld First isn’t open. |

Once the QF First Lounge opens back up again, then it's a toss up between the AA Flagship Lounge, or the QF First Lounge, depending on what aspects of the lounge you favor. Views, self service, vs. better F&B overall, for example. Of course nothing stops you from doing lounge hoping if you are up for it.

Never really tried so dont know but can I get into OW J lounge by virtue of AA LAX-JFK transcon in J/F ? I am guessing know as thats just a special AA thing the LAX/JFK & the LAX/MIA on the 77W. I thought once though I read pre Covid that someone said they got into Qantas F actually when flying LAX-JFK in FF but maybe that was due to their status.
I have LAX-MIA FF red eye later this week and with no FFD was just thinking I'd check out the OW J food selection but didnt want to walk all the way over if I wont be allowed in. |

FWIW, the AA Flagship Lounge I consider better and would use that over that (and even the Qantas First Lounge when it opens). |

You should have access because of the transcon, but they might still deny you.

I'd take Qantas F over FL any day though, i mean assuming we're not considering the FFD component. I do like that LA is the only FL with hot showers though. DFW, JFK & MIA are all truly a joke as far as the max temp. |
