Help with one world explorer RTW ticket!!!
I have completed a booking via oneworld website and was given a booking code. It was ticketed through AA. However , I never receive an e-ticket either from one world or AA. I logged in the AA website with the booking code, it stated the itineracy is on request.
Does it mean the ticket was never booked and hence I have to rebook it again or I have call AA rtw desk to book the ticket over the phone. Of note, I did manage to go through the one world websites including payment page fine with no error.
As well, I am not sure why one world site doesn't show up flight that is available e.g. NRT-JFK JL on Feb 11, KUL-NRT JL on Feb 7 even thought it shows up on JAL website. If I call AA RTW desk, will they able to book those flight for me or i could only take what is available on OW webs tie

How long ago did you book the ticket. It seems to be a manual process which can take a day or two.
If it was more than a few days ago call AA. Could be that something is wrong with the itinary or your credit card or something else. It seems that your reservation is existing and just the ticket need to be issued. No need to rebook then, just have the ticket issued.

On Feb 11, JL 6 NRT-JFK has one seat available in F (A1) and plenty available in J or Y (D9/L9).
On Feb 7, KUL-NRT: nothing on JL 724, and MH 88 is available only in Y (L6). Much better availability on Feb 6 and 8 if your dates are flexible; both flights available in J and Y.
What flights are you currently holding in your reservation? If you call AA RTW office and can get them to book your preferred flights, and it involves an itinerary change, they might not charge a change fee if it has not actually been ticketed yet.

As unterwegs pointed out, "on request" is a normal feature of the AA reservations system (and likely all of them, but that's the one I mostly use). Initially it just means that they have to coordinate your reservations with another airline (probably because OneWorld is really ManyWorlds and their computers don't play well together). After no more than a day it typically means there's some other paperwork problem, typically a credit-card thing. Frustratingly AA never seem to message the passenger to resolve the problem - I always have to notice it and call.
So call. Almost certainly there's nothing wrong with your travel plans, nor will you incur extra costs.
My recent experiences with the AA RTW/ATW desk have been quite mixed, btw, so it's become necessary to be an informed customer and be prepared to say "no, that's not right." So if my comments above are wrong and they want to charge you for something, tell them you'll get back to them and ask here before authorizing anything.

It is likely the OW website is "in" the US. Are you somewhere different ? And which country have you told the JL site you are in ?

For passengers looking to travel just JFK-HKG, CX thinks it will be able to sell first class inventory for the higher yielding F class.
For connecting passengers, because CX faces more competition it will offer lower yielding A class, plus this also allows it to sell a seat on the feeder flight.
Often, if the shorter feeder flight itself is almost sold out, this will also limit availability on the longhaul JFK-HKG sector as well.
If you make the booking, and then decide you want to change/cancel the HKG-KUL sector, you would probably have to cancel both JFK-HKG-KUL and hope you still get availability.

Also check if another carrier has a codeshare on the same route. Look at each airline on line timetable or pdf timetable. This worked for person some weeks ago when an AA codeshare was avalaible, but the flight was not available on QR (the actual carrier). Codeshares do not always show up in the online OW booking tool

Codeshare quirks definitely exist. SYD-SCL on 29JAN. 2 flights, 1 each by QF and LA.
D class availability on each flight is better if booked under the codeshare rather than operating flight number.

Regarding the 'on request'.
After booking by phone (not possible for me online), my ticket was on request for about a week. After a few calls, my favourite ta finally decided do send a 'rush' to the Amsterdam office to actually ticket the ticket. 1 day later I got a message that something was wrong with my flights and that I should call back. Turned out, all LAN flights disappeared from my itinerary (maybe because it was on hold for too long?).
My fav ta reinstated the whole thing, and it was ticketed like 2 days later. But the AMS office found no better than to add 50 euro pp to the ticket, and 'hid' it in the actual ticket cost (no other way to explain it, but it was exactly 50 euro higher pp, and even the RTW desk couldn't see why).
Long story short: If it's on request for longer than 2 days, call them, and ask about them, and don't let them say "they're working on it". Giving a reason why you need to know asap if everything's confirmed, is always helpful.
