Ok, so I changed a few flight times around last night via the RTW desk, but it was only a date/time change (as acknowledged by the rep). I've yet to take the first ex-KRT leg.
Today, on AA.com my ticket has moved from 'ticketed' to 'on request' and the price is now showing as $30k. I don't know why it was re-ticketed (given it was only a date/time change), am I going to run into any issues here? If I access the booking through virtuallythere.com the flights are all still 'confirmed' and the PNRs are the same. I'll give the RTW desk a call when they open. |

FWIW, I have seem some crazy prices appear on my various xCIRCxx ticket itineraries (AA issued) after I do date / time changes. The crazy prices have ranged from a few dollars, huge amounts or sometimes in between. I wouldn't be too fussed by them. I do understand that the rules are different between xCIRCxx and xONEx but their start rules and changes rules seem similar (if not the same). And these comments relate to tickets where I have not done the first sector and others where I have done the first sector. Good luck!
Thanks :) |

Did the ticket statuses also change? (e.g. from 'ticketed' to 'on request'); that's my primary concern!

My understanding is that any voluntary changes before first flight of an xONEx triggers a do-over. I hope for your sake I'm wrong.

Changes to the first flight before departure cause a reprice. Other flights shouldn't.

I don't doubt you, but someone at AA seems to have missed that distinction in this case. (or the poster did indeed change the first segment).
Thankfully the reps last night were able to a) re-validate the ticket and therefore have the ticket updated without a re-issue and then b) (complete guess here as it was still showing as 'on request' after the re-validation) remove the flag to have the ticket re-issued, and therefore return the status to 'ticketed'. |

There had been changes to my ex-KRT AONE4 prior to its start in April, but AA RTW insisted that ticket only need to be re-validated and not re-issued. However, 24 hours prior to flight, RJ dropped my KRT-AMM-LHR flights because AA had not re-issued the ticket! (Slightly different scenario to yours, as there had been involuntary changes to first flight, but it's worth keeping an eye on it anyway!) Happy Travels. |
My wife and I have just completed a transit-without-visa in KRT. It went fairly smoothly but was a slightly bizarre experience. Perhaps it is of interest for those that are still to commence their XONEX from KRT.
We arrived on Flydubai flight FZ631 arriving in KRT at 23:55 and we planned to transit to the RJ511 flight, which depart 05:20 in the morning. Even though we notified the RJ desk in KRT in advance, it seems they did not do anything to help make the transit easier. Upon arriving you directly enter the hall with passport control. We had to seek out someone there to ask for advice on how to make the transit. The people that can help you are at the far right of the passport control booths. We gave them our ticketing details and showed them our passports. They took our passports and told us to wait until they could find a RJ representative. This turned out to be a long wait. At 01:45AM we were approached by an immigration official that said that the RJ check-in people were around to help us in the departure area. The official, with his superior and a third person (a security guard?) led us to a “micro bus”, i.e. a minivan to take us to the departures area. We were escorted to the departures passport control area after traversing all the boarding process checkpoints in reverse. We were told to wait 10 minutes for RJ people to come and help us. The immigration official’s manager was cooped up in a corner office (without windows), and he kept our passports in an envelope on his desk. Then the initial group of officials left. It was now 02:00AM. After losing patience at 03:00AM, I tried to talk to the immigration manager, but he did not understand English. I grabbed every person walking by with a badge to try to find someone that spoke English. Finally, someone did and I desperately asked if they could help us find out what was going on. This person listened and said that he would find out. After another 20 minutes the first immigration official shows up again and apologises for the delay. He said that the people at the RJ check-in desk were late. He now had to find the immigration manager, who had wandered off somewhere. At 03:30AM we were finally at the RJ check-in counter to get our boarding passes. I had to ask for a Crown Lounge invite to get one. At 03:45AM we were finally ready to go through departures passport check after filling in the required forms. The person at the passport check was confused why we did not have any entry stamps in our passports, but after a quick chat with their co-worker we were just waived through. 3 meters on the other side of the passport check we were asked to show our passport to the guy manning the security screening – which wasn’t operating. We were finally in the Crown Lounge (operated by Chief House Lounge) at just before 04:00AM. The lounge is underwhelming but a reasonable toilet was worth gold. At 04:35 someone with a badge approached us and asked if we were going to AMM. We said yes and he said, “Follow me!” We went through another security screening and then jumped on another “micro bus”. After waiting for 5 minutes, the “micro-bus” started, did a u-turn and drove 25 meters to the waiting RJ aircraft that was just parked on the other side if the bus lane. We took off at 04:50 – which was 30 minutes earlier than the scheduled departure time. My head is just spinning from the surreal experience all this was. |

I was also originally booked on that FZ631 flight, however cancelled it a little while ago and re-booked on the RJ flight from AMM (i.e. the same plane). Great to hear that everything turned out well - I'm sure you were relieved to finally get onto the plane! How was the KRT-AMM flight? I imagine that we'll be sleeping through it, but seeing as we're essentially doing it twice (AMM-KRT-AMM) I'm hopeful that the IFE and food are decent :) Oh, and how was the FlyDubai flight? Did you arrive at the airport 3 hours prior to arrival? (seems like overkill, think I'll get there 90 minutes prior for my DXB-AMM flight as I've read the airport terminal is a dump). |

The friendly flight attendants served breakfast while you could see the early glimpses of the sun rise over the clouds. I asked for champagne to go with the breakfast. Had two of them, actually - and then I went out like a light for the rest of the flight. |
Just started my DONE4 ex-KRT this morning...
I plan on writing a trip report for this RTW, so I'll just bullet point my experience. Also, I'm exhausted, so the thought of having to string together coherent paragraphs seems challenging. Long story short, I'm writing this from the Intercontinental Club Lounge in Istanbul, so we made it! :) Quite a tiring and somewhat stressful experience though. - We were booked in J class on RJ510 from AMM-KRT at 01:00 this morning (points redemption ticket through QF) - We were travelling with 2 large checked bags. Bags were checked through to KRT; understandably, bags were not able to be checked any further (i.e. back to AMM or onwards to IST) - I had emailed the RJ KRT station manager prior to departure and he confirmed that an RJ representative would meet us at the Arrivals hall in KRT; when I checked-in for the flight at AMM I asked the RJ AMM station manager to re-confirm this with the KRT station manager, although I'm 99% sure that he didn't do this - We disembarked RJ510 at approximately 04:00. Nobody was waiting for us, so we jumped onto a shuttle bus which dropped us at the Arrivals hall - Once at the Arrivals hall (about 04:10 now, RJ511 departs at 05:20) nobody was there to greet us. We approached the Visa desk and I showed them the email correspondence with the RJ KRT station manager; they took our passports and said they would "look after it" - Tick tock. Tick tock. It's about 04:45 now and the men with our passports are still gone and nobody at the Visa desk can tell us what is happening. - At ~04:50 two RJ reps approach us with baggage tags and ONE boarding pass. Appears they didn't see the other passenger on my booking ref! After a few phone calls we were assured that both of us would have boarding passes. - Between 04:55-5:10 there was a lot of coming/going from the two RJ staff. Eventually, one of the RJ staff took me past immigration and to the baggage carousel where we found our bags and took them back into the Arrivals hall. The RJ rep had new luggage tags on him and he re-tagged the bags (NB: He forgot to re-tag the 2nd bag, however thankfully I spotted it and got him to fix it) - 05:15... knew we were fine now, just a matter of ticking the boxes. We jumped into a shuttle bus with our bags and were taken to the Departure area. It was us (2 pax), 2 RJ staff, and 2 security/customs staff. From here, a number of 'official looking letters' were signed by about 3 counter-parties before we were taken back through the Departure terminal and back out to the tarmac - Another shuttle picked us up, and at a little after 5:20 we were the last to board the plane. Our bags were taken directly from the shuttle bus and put onto the plane - And there we were.. back in our original seats, in a full J cabin, with a slightly confused cabin crew - I tipped the main RJ guy 20 Jordanian dollars and he seemed grateful. Hopefully this makes it easier for future travellers! |
Good to hear that it went well. Best wishes for the rest of your trip!

Hi
I seen earlier on in this thread that this fare had gone up considerably. Using experflyer I see a fare of $2784 for a DONE4 with AB. I can't get anywhere near this fare with the Oneworld tool. Is there any way to have this ticketed by AB at the $2784 fare? Thanks. |
