Since this is your honeymoon, I would strongly advise to ask for all wedding gifts to be in the form of cash and to then upgrade the LONE5 to a DONE5. Or when starting at a cheaper place than AKL, a DONE4.
How I wish that we could get $20k in wedding cash to pay for a DONE5. Unfortunately thats much more than we'd ever expect. $10k for 2xLONE5 vs $30k for 2xDONE5 is difficult to justify the higher price.

Not difficult to justify at all.

- MUCH more comfort and enjoyment during your honeymoon. A relaxed wife will certainly be worth any sum of money.
- You will get by orders of magnitude more AA miles for a DONE5 so the extra miles alone will save you thousands of $$$ in flight costs in the future.
- Its only NZ$ 20k. Thats almost nothing in real money. (just kidding)
- Did I mention its your honeymoon? (okay okay, I spent my honeymoon driving across the US in an old Dodge Neon but it would have been nice to be on a DONE5).
- If crediting to QF you can get 2 years of OW Emerald status out of this which gives you first class lounge access. And how much money that would save in airport food etc????

So all in all, it is a logical investment. Go for it. Sell you unborn children. Do something.

Have to agree here; if you want to opt for HNL instead of Uluru/Ayer's Rock, the AA miles earned from a DONEx would probably be enough to get you a free trip to Uluru anyway.
