Perpetually overbooked
Are there some NW flights that seem perpetually overbooked? SEA <--> NRT always seems to begging volunteers even on Wednesdays during low season.

This morning I took the first SEA-HNL bump I have seen in months. Unfortunately, the going rate seems to have eroded (a measly $300 plus first class upgrade on the next n/s 8 hours later).

The 06:50ish MSP-DTW was almost a sure bump for a long time. I learned to purposely connect through MSP on the 1am from LAS. I took the vouchers at least 7 times on this flight. Unfortunately (for me) NW resumed a 06:00 MSP-DTW and now I connect through IAH instead.
There are also fewer perpetually overweight flights now too. I used to purposely book long DC9 segments in the summer, most notably DTW-DFW and anywhere in Florida, but DFW is all A319 now and there aren't many DC9's going DTW-Florida, maybe only JAX.

On international flights, that's an entirely different ballgame.

Sure wish I knew where these perpetually overbooked flights were, on my routings. I'm more then happy to get a bump, but lately all of my flights have been flying out fully loaded, with one or two standbys. NW has gotten real good on yield and load control on my routings, lately...

Is there anything else they can give you? If I had even the smallest thing to get back for, it would not have been worth it.

I try to take bumps whenever I can. Even though $300 ain't much, it's still money in the pocket. Also, FWIW, I took a bump on a MSP-HNL flight awhile back. The agent said $300 then offered $350, forgetting that the max that could be offered was $300. She realized the mistake when processing my voucher and issued another one for $50. ^

I fly almost every week, and rarely see NW call for Bump volunteers. I see it alot more on Delta.
That said, I did get $300 for my 5:30 AM flight on Thursday, DEN - MEM.
