Leaving Nw>>>>a Message

I agree 100% with writing, emails, switching carriers etc. Til NW gives up on this stupid RoachCoach. I also realize that lots of people already have non refundable tickets. I would like to propose the following for you. On your next flight, bring a 10 pound old phone book with you. Leave it on the plane. NW has 1200 flights a day. If only 1 of us did this on each flight, NW would have to haul away 12,000 pounds of phone books a day BTW In Minn. Phone book recycling is the law and mandatory. How ya like dem apples doug?

Doug doesn't care

They'll just add that to the GAs and FA s duties...

....coupled with the loss of revenue from a mass defection of elites will give them an excuse to come back to the unions for more concessions...

...and give the execs bigger bonuses to keep them from leaving cuz we all know you have to pay executive talent to keep them from leaving...

....oh, but I forgot, the general feeling about employees and unions is that we are underworked and overpaid and if we don't like it, go get a job somewhere else...

....gawd , just one more trip, thank you!!!

This is not true. While I don't have the manual in front of me to quote it, the F/As duties DO include cleaning a plane. There are guidelines for what we are expected to do and much of the work is done by the rampers.

Clean planes? Northwest? Not on my last 20 or so flights. You must be thinking of a different airline.

Wow. Simply wow.

This has to be the worst idea yet. Incredibly short minded and at it most basic term moronic.

How does causing NWA to have to fly phonebooks around constructively add to a valid argument against CoachSelect?

*shakes head*

You get for the day. Go back to your hole.

Bad ideas followed up complete ignorance of facts. Yes, we DO have plane cleaning duties!

Marco, is it policy or rule that prohibits coach pax from using 1st class lavs???

Or, is it interpretation of policy or rule??

Thanks,

Mike

Are you trying to distinguish between policy and rule or are you asking if such a policy or rule really exists?

Okay, anyway, I think I know what you mean. Yes, NW does have a written policy that the FC/WBC lavs are for the exclusive use of pax seated in those cabins. Of course, we make exceptions for elderly/disabled pax. It is also a required announcement in our announcement handbook. We don't, as a matter of course, threaten pax w/arrest for ignoring this unless it becomes a repetitive problem from an individual.

In the case of a lav situated by a cockpit door, it is a security issue and even pax seated in FC/WBC are not supposed to be allowed to stand near the cockpit door to wait for an occupied lav.

In cases where the lav is not situated near the cockpit, it is a matter of

1) pax seated there pay a premium for the convenience of designated FC/WBC lavs.
2) it is disruptive to the service.
3) it is disruptive to the pax seated there.

Maybe, but NW can delete all the email with a push of a button. 50,000 protest phone books is alot harder to make dissappear. Its also a way to be a bit more pro-active. It seems the FA union caved in and now their only recourse is to moan on FT. Doug's not our master and we dont have to bite him. We can fly other airlines for the same price. I think it would be nice to leave NW a present before we switch carriers.
