Come to think of it, as long as my seatmate is under 10 yrs. old/under 100 lbs., or the seat next to me is empty, I *may* be comfortable in a CRJ. Otherwise, I'll stick to mainline or Avros, thanks.

It loook like the airlines are transforming their fleets into "Greyhound Buses of the sky." It's sad to see this strategy and I hope it doesn't play out that way. There is going to be a demand for more comfortable means of travel and some how, some way, a vendor is going to come along to fill that need. Perhaps DayJet.

Pinnacle CRJ flights: "operated by PINNACLE AIRLINES JET SERV/NW AIRLINK"

Thus, its easy to tell just by looking the difference between the Mesaba Avro flights, but the Saabs & CRJ's are given the same title.

I used to get all excited when I saw that notation in the schedule. Now I'm going to have to pay much closer attention to which flights are CRJ and which are ARJ.

Today I was on a Pinnacle CRJ (50 seater) from MEM-MOB seated in 2D and the man in 2C was probably 350 #+ and had a lot of trouble wedging his body in to the seat. I am 140 # and was scrunched against the window. They did not have any seat belt extenders on board but there were some vacant seats up front and two seats together in the back had some kind of arrangement where you could put two seat belts together. The flight was almost but not quite full so they got the two people in those seats to move up front and put him into the seats in the back.
I was on a CRJ MOB-MEM two weeks ago there was a lady sitting next to me who weighed no more than 100 # and she put it very well when she complained (without any prompting from me) that the seats were "designed for children."
It is very discouraging and disapointing that airlines are so insensitive to passenger comfort. We simply must have federal regulations specifying minimum seat size.

I'm happy to get the CRJ anytime when the other choice is a Saab!

Better a 90 minute flight on a CFJ than a 2 hour one on a Saab and once you're in the air the window placement is kinda neat ---
on the ground is a different story.

And then there is the discussion between NW and pilots on scope so that AVRO's might get reconfigured as 85 seters (no first class)
BRAVE NEW WORLD, isn't it.....
