So I took a trip to PHX Tuesday, back on Wednesday. HP on the way down, NW back. The NW portion has already posted, miles and segment credit.
I'm assuming I will get miles and segment credit for the HP leg. Any idea how long that takes?
Also, booked a trip in June on CO all the way. Same question.
Thanks. I'm new to NW.

Unless your HP flights were to Canada or Mexico or NW coded, they aren't going to get you miles on NW. But it should post anyway, but with a "N" to say that it doesn't qualify for miles. But in my account, partner miles usually take less than a week...usually wiithin a few days.
OK -- many places where I could be wrong here:
1. I've been using HP = America West. Am I wrong?
2. According to WP T&C's, you can earn miles and segment credit for partners, and America West is a partner of Northwest. As is CO. A colleague of mine is a WP plat, and he flies CO all the time and gets credit.
Where am I going off the rails here?

What does CO have to with any of this? Originally Posted by BigLar

The rules for earning WP miles on HP are quite clear:
http://www.nwa.com/freqfly/earn/airfl.shtml#americawest
And if your flight was domestic, you are s.o.l.
I re-examined the rules. On the .pdf file where they show all the partners, they have a map and the various partners are color-coded. When I printed it out, I used a laser printer and lost the color-coding information, so it wasn't obvious to me that HP would not give me credit on domestic flights. So, yes, I'm SOL on that flight.
At least I got a decent price and the schedule I wanted, so I can't complain too much.
And CO got involved because I mentioned that I have a CO flight coming up. But CO is a different animal than HP, and I believe I will get mile/segment credit for that itin.
Unless I've misunderstood something else.

Yes, you will get mileage, but perhaps only 50% EQM depending on the fare class.

Not too concerned about the mileage; not making long enough trips to worry about. Segments are the name of the game for me.Originally Posted by Jaimito Cartero

Did you read the CO section on NWA? It looks like some fares won't earn segment credit. Originally Posted by BigLar

Elite Qualifying Segments: J, C, Z, A, D, Y, H (K, N, B, V, U effective January 1, 2005)
* The following codeshare classes will receive 50% Elite Qualifying Miles and will continue to receive no Elite Qualfiying Segments:
On Northwest-coded, Continental-operated flights: V, L, T, K
On Delta-coded, Continental-operated flights: L, U, T
On Air France-coded, Continental-operated flights: V, L, Q, U, N, W, E
On Aeromexico-coded, Continental-operated flights: L, V, T, X, N
On Korean Air-coded, Continental-operated flights: E, L, V
On CSA Czech Airlines-coded, Continental-operated flights: Q, N, V
On Alitalia-coded, Continental-operated flights: A, N, L, O
These may just affect you if you have a NW ticket, with CO metal on it. I don't use segments for 'nuthin, so I'm not real familar with them.
