Advice on getting to LGA for 4PM DL flight?
Hi flyertalk,
I was hoping to get some advice on LGA, because I usually use EWR. I am trying to make a Friday 4PM Delta flight to BOS to catch a Celtics game. My class ends at 1:45PM, around Mercer/Bleecker St area. If I call an Uber right at 1:45, can I make the flight comfortably? Or is it better to do the E train to Jackson Heights+Q70 SBS? I will have no check-ins.
Thanks for your help!

At that time of day, you are pre-rush hour. Stick with Uber and you will be in a car by 1:50 and at LGA around 2:20 for your 4:00 PM, which means that you will likely make the 3:00 PM.

Look on Google Maps before you call the car to make sure there aren't any major traffic problems, but you should have PLENTY of time to make a 4pm flight if you leave at 1:45.
BTW, if you opt for public transit, I'd use the F from Broadway/Lafayette rather than schlepping to the E from Mercer/Bleecker.
Also have you considered the Acela? Depending on timing it might be more efficient.

Maybe the OP should ask in the New England forum for advice?

You think so? I used to spend a lot of time in downtown Boston and getting from Back Bay Station (train should arrive there close to 6:30 PM) to TD Garden is easy peasy. Just a simple transfer to the T which goes straight to the Garden. Getting from Logan to TD Garden seems much longer.

Back Bay Station, not South Station. Still a long way off, but right now Amtrak is expecting 2164 to arrive BBY at 6:25 PM... 14 minutes early.
