Wondering if the Leisure code devaluation was a temporary thing or not? Surprised there's no activity in this thread for 18 months.

I just checked my company's leisure code and the rates are the same as for business rentals. Not clear if LDW/CDW is included, but National doesn't prompt me to add them.

Mid-sized med device company, code starts with XZ.

No clue what would happen if I used this code if I left this company.

It does not seem to have been temporary. All of the rental car companies have apparently recalibrated their business models around scarcity and high rates over volume. The $20-$30/day retail base rates which were fairly common before 2020 are pretty much gone except for maybe northern big cities in the dead of winter. We'll see if the downward trend in air travel over the last year forces any changes.

I think almost all the codes start with XZ.

Same here. The rate with the leisure code now matches the corporate rate so National is back on my leisure list to check.

Mine still sucks. $65.92 a day for a midsize on leisure vs $57.17 in concur (btw ..., that went way up).

I've been booking prestige cars at Hertz or BMWs at sixt for less.

That's still way less than some of them are. One of the codes I'm eligible for is sometimes higher than the retail rate.

Thankfully our corporate rate has stayed at 41.
