- No 1-2-F credit for options on 1-day rental (SXM, etc)
- If applying 1-2-F coupons for a rental, as least one day must be paid in order for a National credit to be gained; but at least two- to get any 1-2-F points for anything associated with that rental!
- On longer rentals , 300 points are earned every 4 days
2018-2019: August 23, 2018 through February 28, 2019 - coupons valid until June 13, 2019
2017-2018: August 24, 2017 through February 28 2018, with 12F coupons valid until June 15 2018
2016-2017: August 25, 2016 through February 28 2017
2015-2016: August 2015 through end January 2016, with 12F coupons valid until June 15th 2016

I'm new to National. I registered for the promo this morning. Can someone help clarify a couple of questions?
- I made a reservation last night for a few months out. Does it matter if I made a reservation before the promo, or do I just have to complete the rental during the promo period?
- One of the blogs listed a bonus opportunity for downloading the mobile app, but my bonus opportunities are still being gathered. If I already downloaded the app, do I need to delete it and download it again to get the points later?

Is it me or is this promo a lot harder to earn free days with just normal (ie rental) activity?

"Points will be awarded for each qualifying rental made after the date on which you registered and which occurs from August 23, 2018, through February 28, 2019. Credit will not be given for rentals made prior to your registration date. You can call Customer Service at 1-800-962-7070 for questions regarding rentals that occurred before your registration date."

No, National isn't giving anything away, but you still get normal EC reward points on top of the promotion, so there is that anyway.
As with all promotions from National you have to look at if the thing works for your individual situation. For instance racking up coupons from OTF promotion is useless unless one plans to make reservations from locations that accept, and not all do as a rule.
That being said National is geared towards the business/corporate traveler/user. As such nearly all airport locations accept OTF coupons, so it is easy not only to rack up points but use them if that is how you roll.
OTOH for those who primarily rent only for personal or whatever reasons and mainly from urban or whatever locations that do not participate in any National promotions, then OTF may be of dubious value. I mean paying $$$ for a rental from National when Hertz or whoever in same area is only charging $$ may not make sense, especially if the goal is to get OTF coupons that likely will not be used.

I can't imagine how there is any complaining about 1-2-F. It's one of the best recurring promotions out there. You earn all of your normal free days at the same time. I never have any issues redeeming either, if you are, maybe get out of Manhattan or wherever the one-off locations are that don't allow 1-2-F redemptions are located.

A minimum of two two-day rentals gets you one free day, and the bonus opportunities reduce that minimum even further.
The promo goes for six months and the coupons can be used on expensive one-way rentals. It's the best deal in the industry.

Registered my wife today. I was hoping they'd allow a rollover of points from the last 12F promo like they did last time, but it appears that isn't the case. Too bad because she had 550 points.
