BTW, careless use of Happy Fun Ball may lead to the use of preperation-M, er H. This can have unfortunate consequences, at the following exchange demonstrates:

: Well, it all started when I was a young boy.
: I saw this add on TV about hemrhoidal ointments,
: and i thought they said, 'oinkments'. Not knowing
: what a hemrrhoid was (I'm still not positive,
: don't they look and smell like grapes???) I
: decided to try the most popular hemrrhoidal oinkment.
: (actually, i tried Tucks first, but those are just
: medicated pads that soothe the burning itch of
: hemrrhoids) Anyway, to make a short story a little
: longer, I am now addicted to preperation-M, er H.
: Help.

Just be glad you were too young for the eariler versions.

Thanks to bribes sent to the FDA to push it to market, 14,000 Americans
had their ... permanently glued shut by Preparation G.

And there are still unknown hundreds living out horribly disfigured lives
on a remote Pacific island because of Preparation F.

The results of Preparations A through E didn't live long enough to test,
and what remained of them was too disgusting to autopsy. They just burned
the lab down and bulldozed the site.

They were working on Preparation I in Japan, but one of the researchers
made the mistake of taking it home to test it, and dropped it in the
subway. It was a sad thing, but it could have been sadder had it made it
to market. Count your blessings, even if you have to stand up to do it.
You're getting off easy.

Wow...196 posts wasted on this clown. I think I may have shared mt favourite quotation with some of you before, but it bears repeating here:

"Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty...and the pig kinda likes it".

Give it up,guys. He likes it.

flyrights Jul 23, 2002 7:12 pm

Kiltboys, you are an obvious sexist...
You have referred to everyone on this board as "guys", and to me as "he".
I've never stated my gender, so it's a rather poor ASSumption you have made to make up your mind that I'm a "he". Yes, I said my name is "Jim", and someone else thinks I'm "Eddie", but "Jim" may not necessairly be a male name. It MAY be short for something else. And to think this Board is ONLY "guys" is rather presumptuous, and a dis-service to all the ladies out there...
Jim (may be male OR female--don't ASSume what you don't know...you just MIGHT be wrong!)

Hey Mashav,
I have to admit, your comment about Aunt Suzy not geting her tumor removed made me laugh...
I wish I knew how to insert one of those little smiley characters!

The reason so many of you are bent out of shape over this issue, is because it tugs at the very heart of your existance: convincing yourself that you're better than other people, and deserving of being able to step on people, when you know you shouldn't be able to... you just get an airline to do your dirty work for you..., (deboarding confirmed passengers, going to the front of the line when you have no right to, etc.).

And look at how successful Southwest has been...yes, despite the fact that they treat people fairly, AND they can STILL make money. Look at British Airways, and the handouts of welfare they get from their government... same goes for all major US airlines and many other foreign airlines.
Do you think the average working class person in some depressed part of Britain is happy that they subsidize British Airways, who clearly doesn't treat people fairly? Sure, British Airways aren't the only guilty ones... but the state of denial you people are in is rather disquieting, at best.

I must say that after I read your posts, I really do feel like a superior person both in terms of intellect and emotional stability. THANK YOU so much for helping to inflate my ego to an all time high. I think I am going to do what us rich people do and hop Concorde for a day trip to London. I like Concorde since its altitude assures that I am always above all of the low life working class people on the Boeing and Airbus tubes - This helps me maintain my ever fragile sense of self image since I can only feel good about myself by looking down on other people. Good job flyrights - you have given me a real boost.

flyrights,

This has NOTHING to do with ciivl rights. An earlier post explained this quite well, but you must be too busy claiming everyone else's ignorance as to your argument to learn from what others are telling you.

Civil rights involve citizen's interactions with governments. British Airways is not a government; it is, as of 1987, a private entity. If you flew on a state-owned carrier, maybe you would have a civil rights issue, but I assure as someone who just finished law school and is knee deep in bar exam studying, that you DO NOT UNDER ANY LEGALLY VALID UNDERSTANDING OF A CIVIL RIGHT, HAVE A CIVIL RIGHTS ISSUE. Stick with your contract argument, it at least gives you a leg to stand-on (albeit a precarious one).

PresRDC, now you've done it. This thread was just about to die, but you had to feed the troll..... Now Jim's good for at least another couple of pages!

And to all the FAT CATS on expense accounts, it's great that you've convinced yourselves, if you run a business and pay for your own tickets, that ULTIMATELY, you write off those charges, and simply deduct flying first class from your taxes. Which translates to the average taxpayers gets LESS government/social services, because a lot of money had to go and pay for YOUR first class tickets, which you have written off from your taxes.
So please don't try to make anyone think that money is coming out of your pocket to buy your first class tickets... it's really coming out of services taxpayers won't get.

HOpe that makes all of you FAT CATS feel great: while you're luxuriating in FIRST CLASS, some poor taxpayer sitting in some County hospital somewhere MIGHT not be able to get medical treatment they desperately may need, since so much tax money went to pay for YOUR first class tickets... That is, there may be LESS tax money to hand out to County hospitals, since you FAT CATS are "writing off" your luxury travel...

Sorry, your definition of fraud is not legally valid. Fraud, as it relates to a contract is giving FALSE INFORMATION. Had you asked "is there a pecking order?" and were told there is none, you maybe would have a cause of action for fraud. Non-disclosure is not fraud, but may be misrepresenation. Courts will look outisde a contract to get additional terms and some are implied by law. If it is industry custom to give priority to higher paying passengers, this might well be an implied term in the contract with as much legal effect as an express term. If you don't this, go back to Medieval England when these rules were first formulated and change it.

Do you have any idea how much of the federal budget goes to the services you describe? VERY LITTLE. These tax deductions encourage business travel, which helps airlines, rental car agencies, caterers, airport shops and countless other entities. This has more of an effect on people than any adverse impact on the federal budget, which is quite minimal.

Sorry about keeping this thread going, but it has been a very helpful bar review.

PresPrc: thanks for the legal clarification of fraud and misrepresentation...
Yes, I know tax deductions ENCOURAGE travel, and help keep the economy going... I guess that is yet another way FAT CAT business travelers have convinced themselves that by sitting in First Class, they are somehow doing a CHARITABLE SERVICE for the entire populace. Oh, and sorry you had to apologize for keeping the thread going... I can't help it if I'm the most fascinating topic on this Board... How's this: I CHALLENGE YOU PEOPLE TO STOP REPLYING...

OK, get ready to quote this:
As soon as you people stop responding, I'll stop responding...
(Maybe that will get the thread to die)... I'm the first to admit I think we've covered it all here... maybe it's time to move on...OK, so don't reply... let it end here...
