Where do I find my current elite statement for United? Is it the monthly e-mail, "My Mileage Plus Summary - January 2009" or do I just print my flights from the website?

I know this might be a stretch, but figure I would ask. I just matched my AA Platinum for UA Premium Executive. I will be downgraded from AA Platinum to AA Gold at the end of this month. I perfer to fly AA, so I was wondering is is possible to use my UA Premium Executive and status match that back to AA to regain my AA Platinum Status?

I don't believe that AA does matches. They only do challenges. Search this thread for the specifics. As you already have status with AA, I don't see how this will work. It does sound like a stretch to me.

Correct... You could try to get a status match on to a third carrier... but going back to AA would not work, as they have the 'challenge' and you are an elite already...

What I have done for status match with LAN (it could be applicable for other airlines) is that I made a PDF copy of my mileage plus online summary. There is an option to get a full summary by specified period (or select by air activity/partner/UA/*A, etc). But I also provided scans of the mileage plus card to match the number and the name on the statement.

sorry to hear that... but I'd give them some more time.

Will NW match Delta Status?

I have Delta Silver status. Will NW match? I want a match because I have an upcoming flight on Continental, and I would like an upgrade

Thanks

As they are the basically the same airline now, I can not imagine why they would. Previously, as members of the SkyTeam, they would not match each others elites.

I requested GM from DL to match my GE status on CO.
Faxed it over yesterday. Just wondering how long it might take to get a response. Also wondering if they don't match, will they let you know or just not respond at all?
Yes, I did. I called Delta and asked about the status match. They claimed to know nothing about it, however, when I mentioned the process of faxing my statement from other qualifying elite status program (AA PLAT, in my case), she all of a sudden knew what I was talking about. She provided me with the fax number that was listed earlier in this thread to Delta. I took a couple minutes and typed up a quick letter explaining why I wanted DL elite status: change in business travel patterns, frustrations with AA (not really though), desire to give business to DL, etc. It took maybe 3-4 weeks since I had sent the fax for them to change my elite status to Gold Medallion. I actually found out, when they had pulled me from my economy seat at the gate and informed me of the upgrade. What a terrific surprise! Best of luck to you.

Any luck on UA or USAIR matching AA status?

(first time post, so apologies if I'm not using appropriate lingo or etiquette)

Or better yet - merge them both, since there has been recent activity here as well...

I'm currently Worldperks platinum elite, but Delta has been setting off bombs to blow up the value of my relatively new top-tier elite status. However, in order to use up all of my Worldperks miles before they become nearly worthless to me I've booked a bunch of award trips throughout the year (which Delta has now partially blown up also with their announcement that they are taking away my free Platinum award changes and redeposits of miles on March 1, right at the start of my first full status year as a Platinum ).

My question when exactly would likely be the best time to ask for a Status Match?
I understand most other airlines have seen the Carnage over at Delta - NW and are being generous in their status match offers right now. But if I request this now, I'm going to have an extremely difficult time maintaining my status for next year; I just don't have the time to do many paid flights until next year.

Maybe I'll forget about loyalty and book whomever is most convenient/cheapest. For domestic I've already switched mostly to WN (many NS from BNA).

The best course of action seems to be to use up the few remaining miles, get at least silver on NW/DL in the process and match to another airline after June 15 and try to get status until early 2011. Hopefully by the end of this year it will be known when CO will join *A, I can live with the combined UA/CO network but not with either one of them. But then, which airline will be the next to announce billions in losses? The benefits are going downhill no matter what.
Back to this topic for me. Since I'm not due to pick up much paid flying to early next year, and since both AA and UA are almost certainly only going to ffer a 90-day challenge period rather than direct status match, I presume my only good option is to wait to the end of this year to request the challenge? (initiating one in the summer or fall does me no good as it would be difficult to get in enough miles during that period for me.)

Drawbacks: AA have to pay $150 for Plat. challenge, no status while flying qualifying flights, correct? (neither applies for UA challenge)
UA usually requires flying more miles in the 90 days than AA.
Any other advantages to doing this on AA versus UA or UA vs AA?

Any chance I would be turned down on either airline (currently NW plat.)?

NZ to NW status match success

I lurked here for a couple of weeks figuring out how to status match, with recent success so thank you.

Full story: I had Air NZ Airpoints membership when I moved to the USA a year ago, so kept putting all my *A flights against that. I hit NZ Gold in Dec 08 which is the highest I can get without flying a stack of NZ operated flights (most of my flying for work is USA domestic). Benefits as an NZ Gold flying domestic are fairly minimal so I started looking for USA carriers to status match me.

I'm happy enough with Star Alliance (all the networks/airlines give pretty measly service these days) but generally no *A will match another *A so I went after Continental OnePass thinking I could get into a USA based *A through their alliance swap. They said they don't match NZ... So then I went after NW thinking I'll use my once-in-a-lifetime status match with an airline that is disappearing anyway.

I faxed all the right documents to the fax number (as per instructions on this forum) requesting NW Platinum on the basis that only that level would give Skyteam status high enough to match the lounge access of *A Gold.

I was giving up hope when after 2 weeks they sent me an email notification that I was now NW Gold. I get the status for the 08/09 membership and the 09/10 membership (i.e. through to Feb 28, 2010).
