Not to worry, you will not lose your status.

And last thing, does it cover the remaining membership of the current programme or 1 year from the switch?

AirNZ Gold Status > OneWorld Gold/Sapphire?

Hello Tread, I am a AirNZ (*A) Gold member, and I am about to do a LOT of travel on OneWorld airlines with a RTW fare. I would like to keep the benefits of my gold status...Does anyone know of a OneWorld airline that would do a Status Match? thank you!

Malev offer a match but you must fly a leg with them first. Otherwise try with whichever OW airline you will predominantly using. Evidence of tickets bought and future business often helps the matching process

I'm current *G in Star Alliance, is there any program I can match to in another alliance? Or can you only match within your own alliance?

It's generally much harder to match within your alliance than with an airline in another alliance.

According to Milepoint it looks like Oct 1.

I am really pumped about the match.
I can now maintain UA as primary account and fly AA,AS,DL,KLM,AF, etc and get 100% bonus through AS. Wish they allowed free bags on all of those carriers too!

Looks like they are only matching US carriers.

AS elites get free bags when flying DL in economy class even on intra-US flights. It makes dumping DL SkyMiles easier.

DL Plat looking for new home. Want to match/challenge to UA or CO but have a few questions first.

I know UA is matching EP and 1K right now. I know I can match UA EP as a DL PM with a 30 day 17.5K EQM challenge (according to ua.com). DL thread reports some DM's matching to 1K with a 30K EQM challenge. Do you think UA would match to 1K for a DL PM? I could reach the 30 EQM in 90 days either way, but don't want to match to EP.

CO matches plat status to DL PM with a 35K EQM challenge. Would it be better to just match to CO Plat? What happens when the programs combine? CO Plat is 75 EQM and UA 1K is 100 EQM, do CO Plats drop to UA EP?
