You can transfer miles from Continental or Midwest Airlines into Amtrak.

You can transfer miles from Amtrak into Continental, Midwest, and United.

(You can also transfer miles from Amtrak to Hilton but you asked about airlines.)

For more information, please see this recent MilesBuzz thread: Does CO->Amtrak->UA really work?

And see, more generally, the Amtrak forum.

gleff was kind enough to help me with some Amtrak questions, so he definitely knows how it works.

I am under the impression though that Amtrak points can't go into CO, but YX & UA should work.

They definitely all can. Here's the reward chart.

Can you use Amtrak to transfer CO miles into another family member's account by going from my CO --> my Amtrak --> her CO ???

Or do the name son the accounts have to match?

No.

You could do CO --> Amtrak --> United --> Diners --> Starwood, though. With devaluation.

Okay now for the 20th time.....can you clarify....?

Just started to look at all the messages and even looking at the Amtrak reward chart and went dizzy.
My 2 questions are : to transfer multiple airmile accounts from Continental to Amtrak, and then back to ONE account with Continental is there a fee??
and, Can I move my multiple airmile accounts from United to Amtrak then to a single account with Continental too?

P.S. What does &gt mean? and get??

THANK YOU FOR YOUR WISDOM GLEFF

1) No, there isn't any fee involved if want to consolidate into one CO account. Only limitations are there transfer must be in 5K increments and Amtrak has annual limit of 25K miles transferring out of an Amtrak account into airlines program.

2) No, as gleff clearly stated, no transfers from UA is allowed.

"Conventional wisdom" on FT seems to be that CO awards are hard to come by at the non-Easypass levels- even with UA in bankruptcy, UA and star offer a lot of options.

I just shifted some Amtrak to UA- handn't touched my UA account in a while, and sure hadn't thought about building up my balance in a while, but, with a possible move to SF, some UA/* flying may be in my future.

You have to call CO to transfer CO miles to Amtrak Guest Rewards points.

The good news is, IME, it's a very fast and easy process.

Then, as you see at the AGR site, you can request a transfer into UA, HH etc. online.

Or you can use them for amtrak travel, using the charts shown on the AGR web site.
http://www.amtrakguestrewards.com/in...rewards=Amtrak

Feel free to search on the CO forum and the Amtrak forum (and here) for a lot more info on the transfers.
