How much do you fly?

I know you all know a lot about the travel programs for each airlines, but I am curious on how many miles everyone racks up each year. What is your business/leisure ratio?

I probably fly 25-30k a year. I would say 50% leisure and 50% business. Also, I noticed some people quoted the number of award miles they fly, which is very neat.

Thanks!

It's crazy to hear how all of you fly so much, how do you all keep track of all your FF accounts and manage all of your mileage?

The reason I ask, is because I will be traveling a lot more in the near future and I want to know the best way to manage all of my FF accounts.

Thanks guys for all the responses!

Did not realize how many people are in the air,
Elbow

Welcome to FlyerTalk, elbow!

I did about 135K paid miles last year & about 15k award miles - so about 150K total. I travel for work weekly though...

Total miles racked up last year though, including bonuses & credit card spending, was probably close to 300K+ miles. It was my best year yet...though there are many more that probably earn that in just a couple of months or even in a month!

Actual flying would be between 50 and 70k a year. Depends on the year.

I average 80k paid per year, and an award trip (anywhere from 5-15k). This year, I'll do over 120k paid and a 15-20k award trip.

In 2005 I did 420,000 miles. I also vowed never to do that again!

Now it's around 200k a year.

Welcome to FlyerTalk, elbow!^

Last year I flew just under 200,000 butt-in-seat miles, and I think I'll top that this year. No business travel.

Welcome to FT!!

My travel has reduced over the years.. Max I did was somewhere
between 350k-400k miles/year (paid)

last year it was between 150k-180k
and this year.. its under 30k so far.. and I do not expect it
to go above 100k.

More stupid security rules = less and less travel

Welcome to FT, elbow!

I did about 130K paid miles last year. This year I've only done 28K so far. Looking at about 70-80K by the end of the year. My travels have been about 50/50 between business and pleasure.

Welcome to FT! This year my flying has almost doubled: I'll fly about 120-140k paid miles, plus 7000 or so in a cushy first class award trip home to London. Beware the FT effect, where you find yourself with a very skewed notion of how much flying is "normal"

Used to fly about 100000 per year (Split between DL and AA) so I was second tier on both. Now down to 25000 for the last couple if years (70% Biz, 30% leisure) not counting ~10000 or so FF Rewards.

My better half seems to think I should go back to 100000 so she can get things done around the house without this oaf underfoot all the time.

Cheers

Scheduled for about 270,000 BIS miles this year. All paid, 97% from my own pocket. This has become a very expensive addiction. At least it doesn't kill you like many other addictions!

Met a chap in Singapore last Wednesday evening who regularly does 400K+ per year these days, much of it commuting SIN-SYD. I asked him to look me up if he's ever in Boston. "How about in two weeks?" was the reply. I hope it happens - he has some great stories!

(He owns his own company and buys economy tickets. He's often upgraded, of course, and understands the FF "game" well, but he does a good fraction of those miles in the small seats. Fortunately for him, he's not large for a guy.)

I fly about 3 or 4 times a year right now, but I hope to fly more in the future.
