Any official updates on this as far as getting the money back?
Airtran states "Thank you for taking the time to write with your inquiry. Unfortunately, any reservations made prior to June 1, 2003 for travel between the dates of June 1 and September 30, there is not a refund. The "September 11 Security fee" is applied at the time of purchase, therefore the fees associated with the tax has been forwarded to the government."

Finally got through to the TSA customer service resource line yesterday afternoon. Astoundingly, the representative who I spoke to knew NOTHING about the fee nor its suspension. Furthermore she found that fact to be telling given information like that is usually disseminated to her department because it is generally the first line of contact with the public. Unbelievably, I was told I was the first person who had asked the question to her department.
Be that as it may, she referred me to the TSA's public affairs office [(571) 227-2829] which she felt could answer the question. Of course I was placed on hold and then forwarded to a voicemail system where I was invited to leave a message which I did. 20 hours and no reply. If there ever is a reply [which I doubt], I'll post the results.
