Finally got through to the TSA customer service resource line yesterday afternoon. Astoundingly, the representative who I spoke to knew NOTHING about the fee nor its suspension. Furthermore she found that fact to be telling given information like that is usually disseminated to her department because it is generally the first line of contact with the public. Unbelievably, I was told I was the first person who had asked the question to her department.
Be that as it may, she referred me to the TSA's public affairs office [(571) 227-2829] which she felt could answer the question. Of course I was placed on hold and then forwarded to a voicemail system where I was invited to leave a message which I did. 20 hours and no reply. If there ever is a reply [which I doubt], I'll post the results.
