The only benefit is between the UA/DL Frequent Flyer program is that you can fly one airline and accrue redeemable mileage for the other. In my case, I will never fly enough with DL to achieve any status so I use my UA MP# and accrue redeemable mileage to award travel or upgrades. There is no provision for status mileage. Therefore, this program is useless to me.

One thing I've noticed is that the miles never seem to post on their own. Three trips on UA, three times I have had to write with copies of boarding passes and tickets, even though UA confirmed on phone and at counter that my SkyMiles # was on the res.

Uh, no. I think the best benefit of this limited partnership is that you can REDEEM UA miles for DL flights, which opens up many new destinations and possibilities for my UA miles. In fact, it has allowed me to burn off my UA miles quickly and keep my DL mileage balance intact.</font>

This is slightly off-topic. Does anyone know the latest news on the DL-CO code share agreement? I have plenty of DL miles, but the flight I want to take in May is on CO. Should I wait a little longer and hope the agreement goes thru so that I can use my DL miles, or just go ahead and purchase the CO ticket?

I suggest you do a search (try keywords: Codeshare, alliance, CO, NW, DL and the airlines spelled out) both in MilesBuzz and the specific airlines forums.
Finally, be aware that CO is notorious for restricting seat availability for FF reward flights, so as to make getting a 25K flight quite difficult. You'll find lots on this in the CO forum.
