If any of you, earned miles for buying a new car could you please post details like which program gives miles and any website links of the programs.
I see two programs:

Eloan gives united miles for financing the car. 3500 miles, http://www.eloan.com/united
any more programs?

I had zero luck getting any miles out of AA's program, despite what my dealer insisted were their best efforts over more than a year.
They ended up reimbursing me for enough Kellogg's cereal to yield the same number of miles, with the understanding that I'd donate the cereal itself to a local food bank after removing the coupons from the boxes. It made everyone happy. (I spent a pleasant half-hour at the food bank with three or four volunteers tearing up Corn Flakes boxes.)

venkat,
In May 2000, I bought a new Chevy S-10 using my Visa card. I had to really look around for a dealer to do this however. They resisted until I told them it was a deal breaker if I could not put it on my card. If you need more details - e-mail me.

Here are the details of the Delta/Hertz program (apologies that I cannot create this as a link).
Happy shopping - we are looking to buy an ex-rental and have found the hertz car sales website very useful and the prices very good - now to look at the cars next month...

In my recent vehicle shopping experience, I was able to put the $500 down payment on a cc and then another $5,000 when I picked up the vehicle.
Another dealer took $500 as a down payment on CC and said up to $4,000 of the final due could be on a CC. I opted not to do this as they had a 0.9% financing deal going.
Both of these were better than my experiences a couple of years ago when most local dealers would take only $3,000 total (including the down payment) on a cc.
(edited to fix a typo)

Although obvious, my suggestion is to shop around.
If you have your heart set on a particular car make/model and a particular dealership which you wish to use for future service or whatever, your options will be more limited. If your willing to get the car out of area, or even out of state, your chances at finding a dealer who take CC's much better.
My personal experience was a Chevy dealer here in SoCal. taking a MC/Visa for an amount somewhere around $10.5K with no added fees/charges. This was on a used Camaro.
YMMV

My parents just bought a new car at a Honda dealer.
They told the dealer that I was going to be paying for a large portion of the purchase with my credit card (lots of miles
).
The dealer had no problem. I think I could have paid for the entire purchase with my credit card and the dealer wouldn't have cared?
