I wonder if anyone has ever received an upgrade in reality by ever "tipping" a gate agent or FA:
3) Slip a crisp bill into your ticket folder. Figure on $50 domestic, $100 international.
Never tried it myself -- would have thought it might be a tad illegal for some reason...

This form of professional courtesy is so common on some airlines that the first-class cabin is referred to as "the employee lounge." Make them share it with you.</font>
