Their customer service is abominable, and I've heard rumors that they won't be giving miles past the end of this year. That being said, if you have to park your money someplace, you might as well get miles.

I've had no problems with them. They have generous mileage bonuses, and the tax free miles are better than what other banks offer these days.

I love Bank Direct. They interface with Quicken and offer free Bill Pay. The tax free miles are great and always post instantly. Their fee free checking account offers .5% plus 1 mile per $10 per month.

I've been using BankDirect for the past 2 years and have no complaints whatsoever. The miles post promptly on the first working day of every month. Even the referral miles post within two days of opening the acount.

BTW to get the 5000 bonus miles for direct depost, some of my friends have got it by connecing bankdirect to C2it. C2IT ususllay does soeme small deposits (less than $1) and Bankdirect thinks that as adirect deposit.

If anyone interested in the additional 1000 miles for being referred by an existing customer one of us in this thread could do that.

I've been really happy with it. 22,000 miles in a few months.

I did have concerns with the customer service in the beginning when I'd call with questions and concerns. But then I got the name and extension of the mngr and he couldn't be more helpful. So when something comes up I bypass the one who answers the phones and speak just to him.

Name: Todd Morrill, Manager
Number: (877) 839-2737, press 5 ("if you know the ext") then, ext. 4585.

sk3- Thanks for the link to the supervisor. I've had generally good customer service experience with BD and hopefully won't ever have to use the number, but it's very nice of you to post it nonetheless.

My miles earned are limited (as are my funds - !)....but so far I haven't any complaints in terms of them delivering what they've promised.
Best Wishes.

I have had great experience with BankDirect, both in terms of customer service and promises kept. Also, sometimes they have great rates on their mileage cds, so these investments are "win-win". i would highly recommend doing business with them.

By the way, they give 1000 miles for up to 10 referals per year. So if anyone is interested, please e-mail me and i will be happy to refer you!

Good Luck

Steven

I opened an account with them long enough to set up direct deposit and get the bonus. My miles posted fine and I closed my account - a great deal for the mile hungry.

What fees are associated with a checking account there aside from the Min Balance fee and acct closure fee? I looked at there "Truth in Lending" statement, but it was hard to decipher exactly what some of the fees pertained to.

BTW, if I decide to open an account, I'd be happy to do it as a referral.

bsartist-- please feel free to contact me if you want a referral. I understand the minimum amount you need to have is $2000 to avoid fees. Also, you get additional miles for transferring money electronically to that account.
