Frequent international travelers can arrange for a quickpass to speed them through US and Canada customs. You get your palm-print scanned in once, and from then on, all you do is press the flesh at a special touch-screen kiosk. Called INSPASS, the pass works at several major airports (I personally know IAD-UA, SFO-UA&SR, Vancouver, JFK-LH, LAX-UA, LAX-LH, LAX-SR, ORD-UA, ORD-SR, ATL-SR, EWR-SR, MIA-UA). If you fly internationally more than three times a year, call the US Immigration and Naturalization Service for an application (800-755-0777).

There are several enrollment centers at the AA/BA, UA, DL, IAB, and TWA terminals at JFK. I would think they have INPASS at those terminals on re-entry.

Definitely. I and all my co-workers are very enthusiastic about it! It works 90 percent of the time. I don't know about some of Rudi's cities--I do know Toronto (Air Canada/Canadian terminals only--not the old terminal (2?)), Miami, all of New York JFK, and LAX. I had trouble getting it because of computer malfunctions (look way back to my experiences) but finally was able to get it in LAX while I waited.
