I guess there is no consensus on what is Buzzworthy. In my opinion, we need a forum to discuss changes, moderation etc. Maybe something under the "Miles Support". This is where "Disclosure", "Whats Buzzworthy" should go. "Baht Run" belongs in UA/Star Alliance. "Base Miles on hotels, etc" belongs in Buzz. I think that Buzz should contain topics which either span multiple airlines/hotels/car programs (e.g. what is the best airline elite program) or discussion about FF trends (e.g. impact of taxation of FF miles).

Also, I think that it would be nice to have a forum "Hot Links" which has links to current threads of interest. This would be readable by all but postings can be made by Moderators only, who provide a description and link to the appropriate thread(s). So if there is a discussion in the NW forum about a promotion of 10K miles for 5 partners, a moderator could post a new thread saying that there is a great mileage earning opportunity and provide the appropriate link to the NW thread. After the promotion is over, the thread could be removed from "Hot Links", but not removed from "NW". This would also allow the moderators to for example, catalog threads of interest for the current AA 20/20 promotion.

Probably just a tiny oversight!

So as noted above, that would leave us with only 3 of 24 possibilities, as judged! Wow, an easily done calculation, since 1/8 is a cool 12.5%! We would be nearly 90% WRONG!

Perhaps we could allow some "slack" and even possibly permit the one thread:

"Air travelers fear loss of status"

Yet, IMHO, couln't threads such as, "Full Disclosure" & "What is BUZZworthy?" also easily be categorized elsewhere - such as perhaps in FT COMMUNITY?

If so, we'd be left with only 2/24 or approximately 8.33% that were "properly initiated" threads in the BUZZ!

Clearly then, we all have quite a bit of work to do to get "organized!"

As we said before, many of those threads will/would be moved to FlyerTalk Travel. At this time we are waiting for the tech issues to be worked out. We appreciate a daily update of what is and is not BuzzWorthy, but please don't waste your time or energy creating such a list just yet.

Okay, thanks! Yet it would still be nice for us to truly know what ideally goes where, no? Thanks again very much!

And also a related, albeit marginally, question to perhaps consider:

Is the current nFT IN THE NEWS: MILES and POINTS for "Posting links and discussion of frequent flyer articles in the news," only, - or also for posting news of possible interest to frequent fliers?

Perhaps a separate thread will serve us and the issue better!

Okay, some posts will eventually go to the FT Travel section at some point, yet is it possible to reach some consensus regarding what should ideally be in the BUZZ?

Again, judging from todays topics, we surely have a kind of "FREEform" BUZZ!

BTW, this does not concern me personally to any great extent (or much at all really), yet when asked for guidance, what does one say? We are in a state of "flux!" at the pesent time! I find it a bit difficult to respond with any sense of accuracy!

Or does it not really matter anyway?

Yes, we are concerned as well, and if it was currently possible, many of those mentioned above would have been moved to the FlyerTalk Travel area.

Please be patient while this tech issue is worked out.

More guidance on what to post where:

Not too many rules. Rules that do not make any SENSE is more the point surely! OK, I can read the new edict above. So, can someone advise what the heck "OMNI" Forum is for then, as most of the stuff there has no relevance to FT at all. Reviews of Planet Of The Apes movie etc.

A post 9-11 view of this issue? Still there is some "confusion" it seems?

Doc it is very simple. EVERYTHING goes into Buzz that folks are too lazy to post in the correct Forums. What part of this simple concept do you folks not understand?

Most of it went into General Travel Talk, but they went and hid that a few dozen mouse clicks away, that most Boy Scouts with a tracking badge could not locate and now no-one much bothers to use it. That's "Progress" for ya.

Skymiler, it's not quite that simple. First off, I'm all for posting things in the correct places. However, let's take one example.

I'm travelling to DCA and back this week. I'm interested if there are any security measures (bag matching, etc) of inbound or outbound flights that would necessitate my being there earlier and/or scheduling a much looser connection on my inbound. Where do I find information on this topic?

Well, there's a thread over in TravelBuzz called "Anyone been though DCA?" Hmmm. Sounds perfect. That might help me. Problem is, the thread was started on 10/6 and there have been zero replies.

Okay, well maybe I should start my own thread over in FT Airports in the Washington, DC forum. I mean, that's specifically what it's designed for, right? Oh, what's that? Nobody's made a post in the entire forum since 8:26 a.m. on 10/7.

On the other hand, when I asked a similar question within a thread here in MilesBuzz, I received the answers I needed within a couple of hours.

I don't want to get into a pi**ing match about whether this is right or wrong, good or bad, but the fact of the matter is that this is the forum everyone reads, and it's where you can actually get answers to your questions.

Sorry, but my adherence to the "new" format ends when there's no demonstrable utility in it.

He, he, which example precisely underscores what I posted above:
