Ditto for me. My Kirkland Signature's are black. Makes me think maybe some other small tag to differentiate may be in order.
Personally, I have them on to possibly meet a fellow FT'er while traveling. Mrs. Road King and I both use them.

You mean other people bought those bags?!?!?!?

Best luggage on the planet, IMO.

Yes, but only ONE for the current status that I have. I think it's funny when people have 20+ status tags on EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEIR BAGS!!! I really don't know why it makes me laugh....

I put my name on the bottom of my bag, between the wheels, so when I slide it in handle first, I can easily tell which black rollerboard is mine

I had a BA Gold tag on my backpack - but it broke after just a few months! The plastic they use doesn't seem to be too good.

I have an Independence tag on my laptop case if I'm traveling with it, and on other bags (carryon or checked) I have an FT tag and a USAirways Cockroach tag. I've seen others with FT tags and said hi, and been stopped by a number of flight crew from various airlines asking what the Cockroach tag is.

And for the survey calculations, I do currently have status and I don't use those tags, though I have before.

Too much time on your hands Fraser?

Yes, I do have the BD tag on my carry on bag. Although it's not 'Elite' yet, and it's questionable whether there will be any value in BD gold by the time my card is issued

Not an idea on earth other than either a bad habit or good luck...of which I know not

Yes

I keep the EXP tags on both my laptop case and my carryon. It wards off the baggage nazi's. I've had a junior GA in Ottawa tell me the my bag will need to be checked and the GA glanced over and murmured "No, he's ok" to him. Complete look of puzzlement on the junior GA's face - priceless. EXP tag in plain view.

Excellent point - I've had the same thing happen in Dayton, Ohio (yeah, I know, not as cool as Ottawa). I also keep my Admiral's Club tag on my laptop bag - I go nowhere with out that bag, but I have gone plenty of places without my membership card (usually happens when it got checked in the luggage because my wallet was too stuffed with receipts to handle non-credit cards.

I love them. On My Filson briefcase you'll find a gold AF/KLM, a Qantas tag and an SAS EuroBonus Star Alliance Gold tag. What I really want is an AC bag tag - those look very nice. I saw one recently at the SAS/AC Lounge at LHR and was green with envy.

Only one tag on my "business" bag, in case it gets lost.

I have a leather carry-all bag which I use when on vacation. It's an old bag; belonged to my dad before he died. He had a few tags on there (old hotel tags, PAA Clipper Club and such) when I got it. I continued the habit. Today, this bag has about 250-300 tags on it. Some of the tags are 30-50 years old. Some are valuable and collectible. From all 7 continents. Airlines, hotels, cruise companies, safari parks. Even the silver tag given out on 10/24/2003, the last flight on Concorde. It actually brings back great memories when I look back at Dad's travel and my own over the last 40 years.

I'm sure some people laugh at me. But many others, even F/A and pilots, have taken the time to look at the tags and tell some wonderful stories of their own.

Too bad I'll probably never see it because I rarely fly UA, but what a wonderful keepsake and conversation piece you have! It sounds like you treasure it and rightly so. One would have to be an absolute moron to laugh at that, and certainly would not be someone who's opinion was worth two seconds worry. (Not that I am suggesting you are bothered by dolts like that.)

Happy travels.
