Where do I get FT tags? Sorry I'm a novice.
Sorry, I am a novice. Where do I get FT tags? I am CO Silver but lost my old Elite bag tags and they only sent small stickers to put your info on this year. Does anyone think I can still get the CO elite tags that had in year's past? <---(sorry, I know this particular question should be on CO's forum)

I use the AA Plat tags on the supposition that it is one more chance of having the bags returned to me. I keep a Ralphs grocery store tag on my key ring on the same principle.
On my carryons, I have residue from TSA swabs.
As compensatory behaviour, I have lots of elite tags on my pajamas.

Nope to elite tags. I think I tossed them years ago. Just a biz card encased.
I do have my FT tags though in case there's an FTer flying; chance to meet someone new - the downside to that though is that I'll put laptop or tote in the overhead bin & close it (if it's full) so even if there might be someone unless they're Superman w/ x-ray eyes they won't see it.
I've met 2 FTers on flights in last few years due to the tags.
Cheers.

I put tags (not ff) on all my carry ons. I also have an address tag and office phone number on my laptop, which was helpful when the person behind me at security at an airport - had an identical computer.
Several years ago, I got a handicap permit (the kind that hang on the rear view mirror) to take my invalid mother around. I lost it at either the doctor's office or supermarket. Some kind hearted soul found it, saw my address tag, and returned it to me.

The original question was whether you have the elite tag on your briefcase. I do not and probably never will. When I do consulting work, the client pays me a lot of money. They are usually in some trouble and worried about costs. For me to show up with elite tags attached to my briefcase/computer bag just adds insult to injury - ha ha your possible screw up will make me wealthy... and platinum to boot!

Well, I have one on my lappy case as well as the FT tag (on luggage too as it really does help me spot my luggage) but? Not sure if it would ever really do me any good. I recently left my QC2 headphones in the back of the seat pocket in 1st coming back from Hawaii. Now, I had my boarding pass stub in the pocket of the case that has my MP number on it. Did that do any good? NO. They could have tracked me down but I think it made a better post Christmas present for someone from the cleaning crew. Wouldn't have been another passenger as there was only one row deplaning behind us and they were right on our heels. Had someone go back on the plane before it headed back to Kona and nope, they were gone. Course I was the one at fault for leaving them there in the first place (ya, ya, I did hear the announcement to make sure I had all my belongings doh). Irks me more however as I go and buy new ones. Next thing I know they have a promotion staring me in the face EVERYWHERE I turn, so many miles for purchasing those darn things in conjunction with the airline. GRRRRRRR. (Lol) That trip just about did me in along with everything else that happened. (And poor old Jubilee didn't survive it either. I am no longer her "mom" except in spirit.) Anyway, still have the tags on just in case. And still waiting for any comments.

I do keep tags on my cases.
My hand carries all have old, low-level cards from when I started working and traveling, and I tend to hold on to them for senitmentality's sake. Sometimes it causes a snub or two when people see a lowly AAPlat tag or old Northwest Orient tag and assume whatever they assume.
My rarely-used checked luggage gets the new, up-status tags, and they get lost at the rate of about one a quarter. Any and all tags on your checked baggage in India get cut off as a matter of fact, for instance, who knows why.
I have had some interesting coversations with other travelers as a result of the old tags, or tags from old or other airlines. I enjoy listening to the baby-boomer engineer/technician types who will regale you with stories from travel in the 60's and 70's in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Times were simpler then!

In almost 5 years of having the large, flourescent greeny/yellow FT tags on my laptop case - only twice has anyone approached me. Last October in the club HNL, and last week in the WC in MSP.
Maybe thats why I get all the upgrades.

I have my AA Platinum tag, Admirals Club tag & of course my super-elite, custom, one of a kind black metal engraved Flyertalk tag with my FT handle on it so generously provided by a fellow FT'er (OldGold? the memory fades with age...)many years ago.
