c2it reminder

July 28 is the last day to sign up for c2it and get one month free. Customer service told me that anyone who signs up on or before July 28 will get one free month. But the rules change on July 29.

For those not familiar with the program and how it can earn you miles, a description is on my web site at http://home.earthlink.net/~pgary/TravelFrame.html. Click on Free Frequent Flyer Miles in the left menu, then on Financial Offers in the top menu.

Since you use credit cards that earn miles from various airlines to use the c2it program, I think this is the appropriate forum for this reminder.

Sorry to disturb you.

Actually, Gary, while I understand your reasoning here, in this case, UM is correct!

I appreciate this post here, because I don't usually check spam and I would have missed this important piece of information. I think this is the appropriate forum for this notice.

We have moderators now so can some people just chill out a bit on the "this thread belongs to the wrong forum" routine? If you don't like the thread, IGNORE IT!

First of all, the date has been changed to Aug. 26th. In reading over the terms, it looks like there is still a free month to use the service. Where did you get the idea that they were getting rid of the free month?

Originally the date was sent to me in an e-mail by c2it. Both the date and the removal of the free month provision was confirmed by a customer service rep on the evening of 7/26.

The new agreement is posted at https://www.c2it.com/C2IT/july_aoltc.jsp. It does say that the date is now August 26. So now I don't know who to believe, but I don't much care, since my free membership expires early next month. The new agreement says nothing about waiver of fees. That is, that provision has been eliminated from the old agreement.

I have posted stuff on this site with good intentions. I believed that what I posted would be useful to those reading the thread in which I posted. From the response I have been getting, my posts seem to irritate too many people. So I will not be posting much to this site anymore. For those of you who appreciate my posts and would like to read more of them, you will find them on The FrequentFlier Forum at http://frequentflier.com/cgi-local/index.cgi. There are no thread police there, because there are no threads. The atmosphere there seems to be much more supportive of those who try to contribute.

pgary - I am sorry that you are planning to lessen your presence here. Please ignore the few fusspots around and realize that there are more people appreciating your efforts than you realize. There are so many great people on this board with a helpful attitude that I hope you stay. Looks like you could be one!

I agreee! Thanks for letting others know that there we do appreiate the information, and the effort made to get through these mine fields of thread police tactic watchers with a vengance. Feel like this is a Steven Segal flick at times. Power to the little people!!

Well, at just 5'6" I think I qualify as one of the little people!

Moreover, I also recommended visiting Garys' site previously on FT!

NO LINK TO MY FORMER THREAD NECESSARY!

Randy & CO, moderators and other FT'ers are trying to better organize the boards for our mutual benefit - and so I commented as I did! Just my opinion!

And I do hope that Gary will stick around - but the choice, as with all of us, is with him!

Have a great weekend!

But let's not have "organization" miss the point. To me "milesbuzz" relates to any way we can earn miles. I look here for that...I don't even know what "Spam" means. What makes something more appropriate for Spam than here. Many of us would have missed some of the information given (US Air Survey, for example) had it been listed only at US Air. It's been said before, that many of us don't visit all the categories. I shouldn't have to look at every airline category to see if there is a quick/easy to get miles. I think notice of the HHonors profile update belongs here, etc. So not everyone is in agreement as to what being organized really means. We want the "heads up" to be easy to come by, and anyone who shares what he/she knows should be thanked rather than chastised for being in the "wrong" place, especially since many of us don't agree that it is the wrong place. Just my 2 miles.

The exact same thing was posted on frequentflyer.com but without the referring code to him, I believe. Many people believe such tags religate such postings to the SPAM forem.

As for FWIW, it is an abbreviation for "for what its worth".
