Hi all,
I found that the flights.com site has a Korean 'branch' where you can book that flight online. The SEL to ATL is showing as being available at that price!
I've used flights.com previously to book a ticket from Hong Kong to Manila, and their Hong Kong agents were legitimate, and they just had me fax an airfare payment form to them with my signature and credit card info.
Hope this helps!

Thanks, TravelTil, you're right, it is showing up there:
Please select your desired flight (maximum three)
Continental Airlines 299,720.00 KRW
Thai Airways International 1,320,400.00 KRW
Philippine Airlines 1,338,100.00 KRW
Korean Air 1,519,000.00 KRW
(299,720.00 KRW = 233.51751 USD)
So, my question is, how can I, (located in North America,) best take advantage of this offer?
Can I purchase the ticket and refund it for a reversed-direction flight? Or should I find a one-way to SEL and throw-away the return?

Is anyone having any luck finding available dates for this fare on flights.com?
I think flights.com is having the same problem with this fare as Travelocity and Expedia. The fare is there, but all the return dates are sold out. Bottom line -- you still can't book this fare.
Thanks TravelTil for the tip on flights.com having an office in South Korea. I noticed that they also have an office in Thailand. That will be incredibly useful for the Baht Runners, since the cheapest fares (M class) for the Baht Run can only be issued in Thailand. The Baht Runners had a bit of a problem with securing those fares since they would not be in Thailand until they began the Baht Run, and by then most M class fares would be sold out.

SEL-TYO segment with CO code is the one that creates availability problems. But for travel agent it is possible to book under Northwest code (first segment SEL-NRT) and with NW code there are much more seats available (fare remains same). Any other airlines, KE for example, is also good.
It is not possible to stop over in GUM or HNL or LAX, only transfer.

Excuse me for an unrelated but sort of related (and maybe stupid
)question...
Can you book a flight like that, i.e., break it up into six segments (coupons?) even though it's the same flight on the same day? If so, do they count as six segments FF-mileage-wise?
)question...

Yes, it was possible. I just did it
I priced that booking using Amadeus:
FXP/S2X,3X,4X,5X,6X,7X,8X,9X,10X,11X,12/R,SEL.SEL
X means no stopover after each segment and R,SEL.SEL that payment and ticketing take place in Seoul.
Now how oh how will I find travel agent in South Korea who will ticket that booking for me!

This is a full, unrestricted economy fare, with MPM(Maximum Permitted Mileage)-based routing (in which someone screwed up in setting the price). You can do this RT or OW.
* The total mileage you fly from ICN-ATL can be at most 8570 miles. Pay 5% more for up to 5% more mileage, 10% more for up to 10% more mileage, up until 25%. (I think 25% is the limit.)
* You must fly CO (or CO code-share) from NRT/HKG to mainland USA international gateway city.
* You can fly any airline from ICN to NRT/HKG and the mainland USA international gateway city to ATL.
* Tickets must be issued in Korea (or pre-paid if purchasing outside of Korea) because this is full, MPM-based fare -- as per US/Japanese governments directives for these fares. You can call CO in the US or a travel agency in Korea.
* Only costs 12.5k miles to upgrade one-way since it's a full fare!

I have a local Asian Travel Agent hot on the trail. I am expecting a call back within the hour.
I will be nervous until I have the paper tickets in hand, but so far everything looks like a go . . .
