ITN advanced seat availability no more?

I went to www.itn.net (which is also/now Trip.com I guess). After not being able to access advanced seat availability with PITFLYER's help, I called their helpdesk and was told that they had changed their site March 16 and that this feature is no longer available. Is everyone else experiencing tnis? Are there any other sites with this capability?
Thanks

I just joined it a couple weeks ago, and have had no problem. Ignore their response. The key thing is, you have to choose the "Expert User" Option - go in to Edit your Profile and hunt around, you'll find it. I made the same rookie mistake, so don't feel bad. Once you activate that option, you will see seat availability in all classes for a max of 7 seats for each class (F3, G6, B7, etc...)

Good luck, and check back to the USAirways board and that thread for more details if you're still stuck.

Knowledge is Power, but of course...

Thanks for the info. Once I go into "edit My Profile" I just can't seem the find the expert set-up option, though. Oh well, I guess I'll look one more time.

I now use www.flyaow.com (thank you BravoZulu) for this purpose. However, when I purchased a UA ticket from BWI to LAX last month the availability area showed V0 W0 S0 T0 K6 and today the flight (#295 on 6/7) shows V5 W0 S5 T3 K8! What happened here? I thought I was booking on a pretty full flight. Is this due to cancellations? Anyone?

Bear, Thank you for passing on the tip. Now, I have an alternative to directly accessing ITN/AmericanExpress travel in www.flyaow.com
I noticed that they also have RTW stuff powered by Airtreks.

How do you find their customer service? Are they responsive to email? If you get tickets issued by them and are travelling internationally, how convenient are they to change (even when you pay the change fee)?

As to what was a full flight suddenly showing lots of seats, I have seen that happen before. Between people that block seats (group) travel and code shares, there are situations where seats are not available.

Not sure if this is what happened to you.

Clouds, I only us flyaow as an information source...I've never contacted their customer service, etc. (I typically find the best fares for my routes on Orbitz).

In regards to the changes in availability in each fare class, my experience with US Air is that they have rolling fare class inventories. In other words, they don't initially make available for sale all of the inventory in a particular fare class. They will make a certain number of W class fares available. When those are sold they may let a few weeks go by where tickets are only available in the remaining (higher) class fares. Then they may load more W class inventory at a later date. My guess is that seats are not selling on those routes so rather than have a fare sale, they will merely make more seats available at the previously unavailable lower fare.

I just noticed that the seat chart on the United Connection Web was missing. Since they use ITN for booking, I wonder if this will be permanent???

Could someone be kind enough to explain what these and similar seat classifications mean?

The itn.net site is etremely slow this morning. Is this maybe due to the launch of Orbitz and both tapping into the same CRS?

One issue with itn.net: If I reserve a coach seat I cannot find out what actual fare code/fare base I am booking in. Under "fare rules" I do find the applicable rules/restrictions etc., but not the fare base. I took this up with customer service but the could not help either. Did anybody get any further?
