Converting Delta Miles to AA Miles

hi all!

well this is my very first post. does anyone know if delta skymiles can be converted to American frequent flyer miles? i'd like to use my detla miles to go to tobago in the caribbean. delta can do with via their partnership with continental. however, that involves a lot more flying that with american (ATL->MIA->POS vs. ATL->EWR-POS (going) and POS-IAH-ATL (back) ).

thanks!

Have you checked www.webflyer.com? You'll always lose a fair number of miles, though, so often it's not worth it. Offhand, I think you can go through diners club, but that may not be correct in the direction you want to go (DL-->AA)

This isn't going to happen the way you want. I've always heard Delta miles can't move to other programs. In general, it is getting harder and harder to move any miles of any programs over to other programs. Also, even if you can do it for Delta, you're going to get maybe a 1/5 conversion rate.

So if you can go on Continental, go, even if it's "more flying."

if you still dont want to do continental

you may see if you can trade a DL award for an AA award or AA $ off certs via the coupon connection
