Help with abbreviations?

Hi, this is my first post. I'm trying not to be a clueless newbie, and I did look in the sticky topics and in the Glossary, but cannot find what two common abbreviations mean: RDM and BIS. (I did find EQM which is the other one.)

Also, what is the difference between "C" and "D" fares (on United I guess)?

Much thanks and if this is the wrong place to post I apologize and please let me know. It might be nice to add BIS and RDM to the Glossary since I see them all the time.

BIS = Butt In Seat, as in "BIS miles" - miles you actually physically sat in the seat and flew on the airplane, as opposed to bonus miles, matching miles, etc.

RDM- A quick search found lots of hits on the United forum, so I'll have to defer to a United regular. From the context of the few posts I checked, and looking at my United status page, I'll make a guess of Redeemable Miles, as opposed to EQM-Elite Qualifying Miles

Welcome to FT doreen_in_sf and well done on searching the obvious places for answer.

CPRich has already answered for RDM and BIS. Each airline may have its own meaning for booking classes, so best to ask on the specific airline's forum.

I think on UA, "C" means paid (as opposed to award) full fare business class and "D" is paid discounted business class (note there are other discounted business class codes too).
