I'm trying not to be a clueless newbie, and I did look in the sticky topics and in the Glossary, but cannot find what two common abbreviations mean: RDM and BIS. (I did find EQM which is the other one.)
BIS = Butt In Seat, as in "BIS miles" - miles you actually physically sat in the seat and flew on the airplane, as opposed to bonus miles, matching miles, etc.
RDM- A quick search found lots of hits on the United forum, so I'll have to defer to a United regular. From the context of the few posts I checked, and looking at my United status page, I'll make a guess of Redeemable Miles, as opposed to EQM-Elite Qualifying Miles
