All I can offer is that Chris Woodyard told me he called Hyatt's corporate office asking to speak to Julia Moore who often replies on behalf of Gold Passport Concierge. They referred him to Human Resources who told him that no such person worked for Hyatt. When he asked if they (Hyatt) lurked the FlyerTalk message boards, he was told flatly that they did not. Obviously, someone does whether their name is Julia Moore or not. Perhaps they simply did not want to publicize this fact in USA Today.

And for the record, Chris did identify himself on the thread as a reporter from USA Today after first posing the question. Also, I understand that there will be an interesting article coming out in the March issue of Fast Company magazine about FlyerTalk. Seems that one of the editors there is rather addicted and fasinated with FT.

For the record, Randy. He only posted that he was a reporter after some people had answered. I also object to the thread title. See my full thoughts if you care to at: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum74/HTML/001227.html

Did everyone read Randy's personal suggestions for getting the best prices on airfare and hotels in the current edition of Home Office Computing?

Cigarman.....I do acknowledge your thoughts on this. While not speaking for Chris, i think he might have posted the question up there like thousands of others have posted these types of questions, just to see if there was anything out there for a possible story. If not much or no response, it would have just sat there - no harm and no foul - again, like many of the posts up here where people ask hypothetical questions. Everyone registered on FT has that potential. As soon as he felt after just three comments, that there might be something to this and he may become a reporter, he posted his presense......almost within the hour. I'd say there are many on this board who have posted these types of questions for their own business or professional research, even though they may not be reporters. And even more important to this issue - Chris asked me before doing this because he wanted to make sure it was OK to use anything because of potential trademark or other violations and I did OK him to post a question and asked only that if he moves forward on it to identify himself. I'm very comfortable that he asked first and also that as soon as he thought this might become a story that he identify himself.
