No problem here

But the actual "MileTracker" part of the program is squeezed into a bottom left corner of the screen, and I found that it takes a lot of scrolling and minimizing/maximizing the screen size to input all the data, and then seeing all the results at once is pretty much impossible unless you print out the table.
2. I also don't see any option for checking all accounts with one click, as the old MileTracker did. I seem to have to click on each account separately in order to update it. Am I missing something? With the old MileTracker, it was really convenient to click on "Check All" and update all accounts in an instant.

2. I simply click on the "Update Account Balances" button on the bottom, left hand side, and all accounts are nicely updated.
So, i've not experienced any of your problems...maybe it's your screen resolution settings or a bad download?

Non-mile content only takes up the top quarter of my screen, once I resized it. Top left has "latest travel news". Top right is blank - various blocking programs must be working.
I resized mine to stretch fully top-to-bottom and it just squeeze in all 17 accounts.
As mentioned above, the "Update Account Balances" buttons updates everything, as does clicking on any "Check" (despite the title "Single check", which used to check only the one line).
I'd rather not have the minimal advertising, but it does what I need and I won't feel bad not paying a shareware developer.

Also, I don't see an "Update Account Balances" button anywhere. And clicking on "Single Check" only checks that single account. Guess I'm just one of the lucky ones...

BBRebozo,
I would guess that you have your screen resolution set at 800X600, for Miletracker to display properly your resolution should be set at 1024x768. For Windows: Go Start->settings->control panel->Display->Screen Resolution (and switch the tab). Some computers (older laptops for example may not support the resolution).

Yes, I just grabbed the side, top, and/or corner and resized them like any Windoze app. Resolution might affect how much of the screen it takes up (I'm at 1280x1024), bus shouldn't change your ability to resize.
The "Update Account Balances" should be at the bottom left, regardless of resizing the window - only the internal program-specifiw rows compress and scroll.
Wait a second - you are on the "Check my accounts" tab, correct? In the "Review summary" and "Updates users and accounts" tabs there is no update function.

John,
Changing the screen resolution as you suggested did make the program more accessible. But now everything on my computer is teeny-weeny (which is why I lowered the resolution in the first place). But anyway, that's the problem. Thanks.
CPrich,
Still can't find the "Check All Accounts" button, although I do have a few mysterious "less than" and "greater than" symbols all over the screen. But anyway, I'm done posting my personal problems on this bulletin board; I've written to their help desk to try to get support on this directly. Thanks to you (and everyone) for your help.

I fully accept the ads, after all we deal with them here. At the same time, the inability to resize the window is really a pain. I don't want to have to resize the screen everytime I use the software. I just won't run it on my laptop.

Speaking of that, you'd be amazed at how little feature-related feedback I get. Some people ask for new programs to be added, but almost no one suggests new features, changes to the layout/user interface, etc. If you've got an idea, please share it with me either privately or here. The core user interface looks nearly identical to what it did when I first developed it in October of 2001 and I know that I didn't get it right on my first try!

As rkp correctly guessed, all versions of MileTracker (old standalone, DeskPort, USA Today, and MilesAndPoints.de) can read in the same settings files.

Mike (aka jimbob), I happened across this thread by sheer fluke (in that it was showing on the front page of Flyertalk as the latest topic under MilesBuzz). I rarely if ever, come to this Forum (well, that has now changed forever ^ ^
)
I downloaded this late last night (I'm in Australia) and it completely had been entranced for the next few hours, loading into it all my FF data (and like you, I look after FF programs for my wife, family and friends who aren't as FF savvy).
This MileTracker is seriously the best program I have ever seen to link almost everything together in one cohesive and easy to understand statement. Updates at the click of a single button. Even better information than the programs give to users (I was able to access info through Details and Chart they weren't giving me)...
I could rave on for hours about all the positives, but it's time to have some breakfast (no, I haven't been up all night although I could have, but I woke early to get back onto MileTracker and learn all the tips and tricks using the FAQ's).
The only downside for me was being unable to access my Amex and Citibank points balances (Amex because I'm an overseas (Australian) cardholder and there is no information under Accounts for Citibank). Would that be hard to include in an update (particularly to include overseas cardholders, I'm happy to help you with the website address??). If I can't access their data, I'll just have to transfer the points across into my FF programs
My rating of Miletracker: :-: :-: :-: :-:
