Well the nice thing is it doesn't cost anything to find out

(other than the hopefully nominal cost of the phone call to qualify the calling card)

DOC .. I don't think these guys are as vague as "Latin Pass" etc!

Thanks to MRLIMOS links research we have this pretty specific link below that to me seems to indicate it is a cinch to transer Frecuenta miles. Is this how you read the link ...might be a catch but seems very specific?

Hopefully it'll be just fine. I'm just not 100% sure!

As noted, however, it's not much to worry about though!

As pointed out in another thread, it appears that many of the links are not functioning and are indicating that the page cannot be displayed. The www.mexicana.com.mx site, which is the gateway to most all the above links is experiencing some difficulties for the moment. It could be any number of reasons from site maintenance to server overload or technical problems, etc. I am planning to try again a little later. They are valid links and typically should be up and running shortly. At least, let's hope so.

This sounds like a great deal, but I noticed two inconsistencies:

1)Hilton's reward exchange page indicates that it takes 5,000 miles (not 3,125) to get 10,000 points:
http://www.hilton.com/hhonors/rewards/exchange_1.html

2) The phone card indicates a bonus of 4000 KILOMETERS while the sign-up bonuses are in MILES. This may be a distiction without a difference, but it seems odd.

I hope the main conclusions in this thread are correct because everyone in my family (4)has been sitting on 4625 unusable frequenta miles for the last year or two.

Here's the original threads that tipped me off to the sign-up bonuses:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum33/HTML/000004.html
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum33/HTML/000005.html

Thanks to ozstamps for digging deeper into this and highlighting the double miles bonus.

Another thing: I just signed up for frequenta, but they didnt give me my membership number in the on-line process.... I guess will have to wait for the card to arrive in the mail (or did I miss the number somewhere...??)

I didnt get an email either...

Well the heading is true .. could be quadruple in some cases.

Greetings Ozstamps,

How are you arriving at the "quadruple" possibility?

Crankyusi .. the "Quadruple" was my posting right at start of this thread. It certainly applies in the situation I quoted:

If ANY UA flyer takes a Thai flight they get HALF miles for every mile flown. If I fly Thai to Europe in coach the 20,000 flown miles get me only 10,000 MP points. On Frequenta I assume this becomes 40,000 points, (+ 4000 sign on) and that 34,000 bonus might be worth something decent?

A strange deal .. make of it what you will.
That situation has not altered. Ansett in Australia only give 70% AND require a flight within 30 days of Tranpac to get UA points .. the MEX deal nearly triples my feed there.

This thread has of course now evolved to the point where NO flying is needed to gain 46,000 Free Hilton points sitting at your keyboard.

dhacker ... we are at cross purposes it seems.

Please click on to:
www.mexicana.com.mx/mx2/english/Frecuenta/beneficios/benehilton.asp

THEY Frecuenta only require 3125 of your family's 4 lots of "4,625 unusable Frecuenta points" to give you 10,000 Hilton miles! (Forget about what Hilton wants.) Each of your 4 family members now has a free Hilton night! Up to NINE free rooms each if you go to the other thread actually. See what you have been missing by not reading the fine print in their program?? (Or this post!)

The catch was if you follow the journey of discovery on the other posts here, was we wanted to know HOW the 4625 free Frecuenta miles could be upped to their minimum transer level of 5000 miles. Then I stumbled across the 4000 mile bonus for signing up for their calling card, and bingo ... you nearly double your Frecuenta worth, and really get somewhere! And have "change" left over.

Maybe read the thread above from "General Travel News" for a clear picture of this deal! And post there and/or here please and tell us how long the pin number took to arrive by mail as that seems to be their system?

Enjoy all those FREE Hilton nights folks!

Thanks again for the clarification OzStamps.
You're definitely on a roll. I did the Mexicana this afternoon and the HHilton deal a couple moments ago. I'll probably be doing a mileage run from SFO-SIN in the next couple weeks on UA so hopefully all these early XMAS presents will post in time. Thanks again Santa.

Ozstamps:

We are not at cross purposes at all! I was just pointing out a couple of incosistencies within the Mexicana site and between Mexicana and Hilton. Have you successfully ordered the calling card? I haven't tried yet, but someone else reported being referred to Sprint. Even if the phone card offer is out of date (and I hope it's not), the double star alliance points is definitely a valuable find on your part. Thanks again.

dhacker .. you are having a nice day. Just read your Latin Pass - Marriott thread .. what a deal! Me, I'd be signing up for that transfer so fast there would be steam coming off the keyboard.

Can anyone please PLEEEZ when checking on the calling card deal ask them whether applicants need be "USA based", "Mexican based" or "it doesnt matter" based! I have yet to sign up for Frecuenta .. been too busy updating these darn threads! I can use the address of a Chicago relative IF I know the card will only be issued to North American applicants addresses.

Many here are NOT ordinarily North American residents, and posting this info will assist us all greatly. Thanks!

I'm missing one thing. I went to the Mexicana web site, but I cannot find where it says that if you sign up, you'll get 4000 + 625 = 4625 mile bonus.

Can someone please post a link?
