Since I haven't been able to get these cereals on sale, I have been bidding using Priceline and paying around $2.20 a box (Complete Bran Flakes and Mueslix)...

How did you know that the cereal would have the special certificates on them? Once you bid and find out what store.....they might not have the miles promotion on them. I know they were hard to find in Houston. Were you able to specify that you would only purchase boxes with that marking?

They had hundreds of boxes a few weeks ago at a store here at $1.69/box. I bought 14 boxes of Corn Flakes today @$1.49/box to top off an account for a ticket. There are about 70 boxes left. A couple of hundred Bran-something cereal at 2.49/box are there also.

By bidding on Priceline, it is a bit of a risk. But my local A&P has the marked boxes for almost every Kellogg variety. (With Priceline you actually pick up what you bid on at a participating store.)

I think I will bid on a lot more boxes...because $2.20 is cheap for cereal...and $.022 per mile is a great deal, especially for AA miles!!

I just logged on to Priceline, and a memo dated today announces the end of Grocery and Gasoline Priceline discounts; sorry fscher and das to burst your bubble.
