Just keep on bugging the burser's office to accept credit cards. If enough people do it, they will change their minds (and policy).
Of course if you are a Senior, this may not help you.

It is 1 point for every dollar you spend. However, for every 10 points you only get 2.5 miles. Therefore for every dollar you only get .25 mile. Even without a fee, this card is still not a good choice.
